That one left me puzzled as well. They do it in boxing, too. Maybe it has something to do with too many blows to the head.

Actually, when I was working at Turner, they also owned a competing organization that went up against WWF or whoever the big cheeze (heh) in that entertainment venue happens to be. I got to see some of the scripts they used.

Yes, they're all pre-scripted. I know this will come as a terrible disappointment to everyone. But it also explains why you never see sports books in Vegas offering wagers on pro wrasslin'.

George "The Animal" Steele, was a very strange person, who was very hairy and would come out with a green tongue and chew on the turnbuckle. He's actually an English professor and has a PHD, but in wrestling circles he professed not to speak.

Probably a good thing. He'd probably start speaking, confuse the bejeezus out of 99% of his audience, and they'd suddenly think they were back in Jr. High School or something (going on the assumption that most of them never made it to high school, of course).

OK, cheap shot. Sorry.

What really surprised me about those guys, though, is: a) most of the wrestlers themselves are quite intelligent. b) most of them are incredibly flexible (especially considering the bulk they have to carry). c) outside the rink, to a person, they're very congenial.

Interesting? Maybe not....but I thought I'd let you know.
