THE WHO

When I saw the WHO tour I remembered their most famous albums Tommy and Quadrophenia two very good albums and I listened to them again but while Tommy is showing his age ... I was amazed for Quadrophenia it seems that time has not passed, too bad it's not on AM anyway for anyone who wants to listen to it I'll put the link
it must be said that unfortunately The Who have not been able to re-release albums of this level over time but continue to be successful in live performances thanks to their previous production

GOOD LISTENING
When I went back to college I worked as a security/usher in an Arena and The Who played 2 nights in witch Quadrophenia was played in it's entirety. (1996?) Gary Glitter was the old rocker and Billy Idol was the bellboy. Great show(s).

DREAM THEATER

New track for DREAM THEATER

the album PARASOMNIA will be released in February and to while away the wait the New Great Track "NIGHT TERROR" with the return of Mike Portnoy
I didn't understand why they would start a long world tour that will end in spring 2025 and release the new album only in February.....mystery....but surely for them it will be the right choice and so I just have to wait a few months....

Anyone who wants to listen to their recent live album I highly recommend The IQ Weekender 2024 - Box Set, a 4 CD collection
in the fourth CD they included a track "Last Remains" which we will find in their new album which has a provisional title "MALAGONIA" naturally the song confirms the excellent music of IQ.... in the company where I worked in the logo it was written " Salire Semper" could be adopted by this great Prog group that improves its music from album to album.... the only flaw is the fact that 5 years pass between one album and the next...

They finally released on you tube "Last Remains" a first track from the next album that will be released with great probability in February 2025 it is a live recording from February 2024, the album version will surely be a modified version and with a surely different and better recording, this is a preview of the music that we will find in MALAGONIA .....

New track for IQ

IQ concert after the release of the album RESISTANCE
........waiting for the next Tour 2025 starting in February
and the release of the new album

AMPLIFIER

ABOUT

AMPLIFIER

From Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website

Formed in 1999 in Manchester, UK

AMPLIFIER is a Manchester based space rock band. This three-piece makes extraordinary music which is quite similar to the, also Manchester based, band OCEANSIZE. The band consists of Sel Balamir who plays guitar and is also the band's lead-vocalist. Than there's Matt Brobin, who is the band's drummer. Last, but not least, there's Neil Mahony who is the bassist. As you can see there's no keyboardist on board, so all the weird sounds and effects are played on the guitar, hence the name "AMPLIFIER".

For their 2004's selftitled debut album the band worked together with Steve Lyon to produce the album (he also worked with bands like THE CURE and DEPECHE MODE) and Chris Seldon for mixing it (also known for producing OCEANSIZE's "Effloresce" album and mixing music by THE FOO FIGHTERS).

Their music is highly original. They combine deep personal lyrics with walls of noise, combined with stunning melodies.

This band has been hailed a lot in the media. Kerrang! Magazine said this was ".the British rock-scene altering record" when talking about their selftitled debutalbum. Metal Hammer said they were ".the future of rock." and even Q magazine said that ".at present British rock doesn't get much better than this."

AMPLIFIER: This is highly original space rock. They mix a lot of different genres (I can hear Krautrock (a bit like Neu!) and Pink Floyd influences in their music) and combine them perfectly

the lineup is currently reduced to just two elements -
Sel Balamir / vocals, guitar, bass
- Matt Brobin / drums
no keyboards are used and all sounds are generated by Sel Balamir's guitar, making them into effects-generating motions
Amplifier is a band I've been following since
their 2004 album of the same name
their sound is very particular and is much appreciated by me..
I like to share with you one of their live shows in Berlin in 2013 and 4 of their Sessions albums that they included in a box set, but which can be listened to for a limited number of listens on Bandcamp

Amplifier have released the live video version of
the session in which you can see all the great
work of Sel Balamir's guitar
for now only those of volume 1 and 2
if they release the other two I will insert them
