They describe themselves as ''Progressive rock straight from 1971, but made today''. They played live shows in 2017 and in 2018 they released their debut ''Past the Evening Sun'' through Apollon Records. The core of the band consists of Thor Erik HELGESEN (keys), Håvard RASMUSSEN (bass) and Dag Olav HUSÅS (drums). Their sound is often compared to that of early ELP. ABOUT MARCO RAGNI ...from Prog Archives.com Marco Ragni biography Born in 1969 (Rovigo, Italy) Marco Ragni is an Italian multi-instrumentalist, who has always been active in musical genres that include a psychedelic aspect. He started playing at age 6, in 1975, on a Farfisa keyboard he got as a present. His main influences for singing have been The Beatles, and his psychedelic influences start with the California hippie scene of the 1960s. In the late 1980's, he recorded two psychedelic pieces, Kaleido and Illumination, before joining the band Deshuesada, a psychedelic pop band that would keep him busy until 1998. Between 2000 an 2007 he played with Quartafila (later Heza) an recorded three albums with them, before playing one year with psychedelic funk rock band Mokers in 2008, resulting in the EP Don?t forget the music. From 2009 onward, Marco Ragni acts as a solo artist, composing and playing his own music, with varying guest musicians. Between 2010 and 2013 he released 5 studio albums and a live album through his own Crow records label. The live album contains recordings made with a band he established for touring, Velvet Cactus. In 2014 he released Mother from the Sun, his (first) psychedelic rock opera, which sounds as a modern Pink Floyd and a bit more. ABOUT I VIAGGI DI MADELEINE ...from Prog Archives.com and Official site I VIAGGI DI MADELEINE I Viaggi di Madeleine biography The band was formed in 2015 by musicians with 10 years of experience. Inspired by 80's and 90's rock, the band made a 4 songs demo while touring and before releasing his first song in 2016. It's in 2019 that their first self-titled album was released. The music has some influence from bands like LE ORME, PFM, BANCO and GOBLIN. Our music transcends reality and projects itself into surreal, dreamlike worlds, which in some way are the metaphors of the time we live in. The epilogues of the stories we tell, most of the times are not rosy, even if characterized by messages of hope and human salvation. sorry for the delay....it's just a way of saying.... track released in March 2023 ... included in an EP by SKY PASSAGE group from Quebec and like most Canadian groups hardly disappoints first release to probe the reaction to their musical genre it is also good to start with a long track where it is easier to evaluate the creativity and skills of the group, it is spreading in the first publications, many on the contrary put a long series of short tracks with various musical genres anyway Good first now it remains to wait for the first SKY PASSAGE album which I'm sure won't disappoint me still few news about the group ... We are thrilled to announce the release of our debut album: The Gathering. Over the last few years, we have dedicated ourselves to the creation of this musical journey and we can't wait for you to hear it! in the album STRINGS FROM THE EDGE OF SOUND there are many versions of previous songs rearranged with the orchestra which are very beautiful but since they are not songs from 2023 I don't take them into consideration for my list ABOUT KARMAMOI ...from official site In 2008 inspired by old and new progressive rock music, drummer and composer Daniele Giovannoni created KARMAMOI, giving life to a musical project that was able to express his idea of music. 2008 – 2011: The band performed in many shows in Italy and Europe, including the Jimi Festival in France and the Eurosonic Showcase Festival in the Netherlands. At the end of 2011, the band released its first album, simply called “KARMAMOI” (Crisalide). It is the band’s only album with Italian lyrics. 2013 – 2014: In December 2013 Karmamoi released their second album called “Odd Trip” (Crisalide). ”Odd Trip” was a huge step forward into the world of progressive rock. The band changed its sound and its way of writing music. It also saw a switch to English lyrics. The album received some great reviews, and in April 2014, Karmamoi performed at The Borderline in London supporting Curved Air, and at Zanzibar in Liverpool supporting Lifesigns. 2016 – 2017: Their third album “Silence Between Sounds” came out in October 2016,. This album took over two years to reach its release date due to changes in the band’s line up. Co-Produced by the esteemed Mark Tucker (Jethro Tull), Silence Between Sounds was critically acclaimed around the world, with some reviewers calling it one of the best progressive rock albums of 2016. Progsphere Magazine included Karmamoi in their list “One of 20 Best Italian Progressive Rock Bands.” In February 2017, Classic Rock Society Mag included “Plato’s Cave”, a song from Silence Between Sounds, in their progressive rock compilation “New Species 28”. The album also reached number two with both Progwereld and Progstreaming. In 2017 the band performed in Italy, the UK, and the Netherlands, returning to the UK in April 2018 to perform at the Winter’s End Festival in Chepstow 2018 : On 30th November 2018, Karmamoi released their fourth studio album, “The Day is Done” (Sonicbond). “The Day Is Done” features several special guests, including Colin Edwin, (Porcupine Tree) on bass and Geoff Leigh, on flute and saxophone (Steven Wilson, Ex-Wise Heads). Mark Tucker was yet again Co-Producer and sound engineer for the album. The band went on to perform at Danfest 8 (Leicester) and at “The Boston Music Room” ( London ). “The Day Is Done” received some stunning reviews and is considered one of the best prog albums of 2018. On 4th May 2019, Karmamoi performed at one of America’s most prestigious progressive rock festivals, ROSFEST, in Sarasota, Florida. On 29th June 2019 Karmamoi performed at “BLACK WATER PROG NIGHTS” in Milan and on 29th Sept 2019 they played at “PROGRESSIVAMENTE FREE FESTIVAL” in Rome 2021: Due to the lockdown imposed by the covid pandemic, in 2020 Karmamoi decided to dedicate their time to writing and recording a new album. Called ‘Room 101’, released on 28th May 2021, the album was inspired by George Orwell’s ‘1984’. It revisits some of the novel’s themes and concepts, adapting them to the present day and focusing on the human mind and its weaknesses. Produced by Daniele Giovannoni, and co-produced by Mark Tucker and Octavia Brown, ‘Room 101’ features the participation of some great musicians, including Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Steven Wilson) and Steve Unruh (United Progressive Fraternity). Karmamoi made this album their first-ever vinyl release. 2022: In March 2022 Karmamoi released a new single called “WHICH DREAMS” From April 2022 Valerio Sgargi is the new singer of the Band. On 25th June Karmamoi performed as the open act of “IQ” at the “Legend Club” in Milan and on 29th July 2022, Karmamoi released the single TAMED SHADOWS 2023: The sixth studio album by KARMAMOI called STRINGS FROM THE EDGE OF SOUND will be out on 1st September 2023. ABOUT LA BOCCA DELLA VERITA ...from progarchives.com La Bocca Della Verità biography Founded in Rome, Italy in 2001 LA BOCCA DELLA VERITÀ were formed with the purpose of reviving the progressive rock music of the seventies (especially of their influences PINK FLOYD, PREMIATA FORNERIA MARCONI, GENESIS, BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO, EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER and LE ORME) by means of performing covers of existing material from that era, which they initially did to very good effect. During this period the band enjoyed much public exposure, including concerts, cultural events and seminars on progressive rock music, but since 2004 the group has moved away from performing covers to devote themselves entirely to creating their first album of original compositions, `Avenoth'. A concept album consisting of a long suite of almost 78 minutes in length unsurprisingly influenced by the above mentioned artists, the keyboard dominated `Avenoth' features an enviable group-vocal richness that is perfectly balanced with lengthy and constant instrumental passages of various moods and changing atmospheres. Along with the orchestral grandiosity of the NEW TROLLS and a modern spin perhaps in the style of LOGOS, their music holds all the right ingredients for those who appreciate 70's prog brought up to date, and `Avenoth' is one of the standout Italian progressive releases of 2016!
