BTW,, I did not know that about Sabbath. I m a fan of them.
All the time,,I come back to them and many others.
Indeed ,,many drummers in some level had or have something from jazz drummers,,, pick anyone and you will be amazed. Baker among them,, Bonham is well known because his influences Buddy Rich and Krupa ,,Hendrix without Mitchell,, you image how would it have been,,, his major influence was Elvin Jones,,,and we could continue, so many others.
Here you find atomic players with always one foot in jazz without doubt.
Paraphrasing Jim hall..everybody has something or has learned something from another musician.
