I've got an 8.5 hour drive of 470 miles. I might start out on Thursday eve and sleep in the back of the car in a rest area. I don't want to risk the Labor Day traffic holding me back another 2 times the drive time.

OK. The more I look at it, the more I think I will leave tomorrow eve. Drive a few hours and then sleep in the back of the vehicle in a rest stop and pick up the journey the next day.

Look/ring me up at the hotel when you arrive.

Sure thing VAX. Not sure what the trip down will be like for you. Last year the NJPH staph battled the remnants of a hurricane or tropical depression, so it was a terrible drive for them.
Its always nuts when we get there (two friends from Alabama and I always ride together) checking in and greeting old friends and such. Naturally, we don't have our shit together. But, we haven't in the past either and it all works out somehow

I take it that M is not coming on the trip with you.

I'm not much for these outdoor fests which is why I haven't done Prog Day in the past. The other hold-me-back has been that it is Labor Day weekend. It's horrible driving in the proNJ that weekend. I'm hoping to get out VERY VERY VERY early Monday to head home or, perhaps, even Sunday eve. I hate driving too.

Sadly, no. The lovely Mrs. VAX will be staying home. I love having her with me at these fests and she enjoys them too, but she's concerned about the kids getting readied for school.

I hope to be there early enough so that you veterans can show me the way to the 506.
