There is also Alan Parsons. His 'On Air' cd is full of sounds of airplanes, birds, and the launching of a space shuttle. Very nice music also. If you can, get the DTS version. Excellent!

Kansas uses a hammer and anvil on "On The Other Side" from the Monolith album. It comes during an instrumental section after the second verse and is pretty much used as an instrument. In concert Robbie Steinhardt (original violinist) "played" it, I don't know who did in the studio.
