"Now And Forever" - This is a first draft of a new song Mike (The Organist) Visaggio and his band are working on. I was gliding by the Kinetic Element myspace site, looking at a collage they put together, and this song was accompanying it. It is fantastic! Mike was kind enough to send it to me.

"2001: Also Rocked Zarathrustra" - A ten-minute tune from Mike's "Starship Universe" CD, he plays all the sounds through the keyboards.

Here's another myspace find you better get on the 2007 list. Marc is based in Baltimore, right under my nose. He's the drummer and composer on all of the tracks. Some top-rate talent are present: Guitar: Brett Garsed on tracks 1,2,3,5,8 and Tobias Hurwitz on track 7. And one of my faves, Frank Gambale on tracks 4 and 6. Having the "Thunder from down Under" on the disc stamps it with instant fusion credibility.

Steve Hunt is on piano on tracks 2,4,6 and Dave DeMarco (lately of Oblivion Sun) is the bassman throughout. Baltimore again!

A nice CD that is neither boring or a wankfest. Marc's drumming carries the songs as an even partner in the melodies.

64-year old Bruce and 62-year old Trower sound just awesome. I'm a big fan of their "BLT" and "Truce" records which were played at college until the vinyl wore out. This one (Bruce getting first billing) is not quite as vibrant, but it's unbelievable the synergy between the two. Jack Bruce's voice still sounds great, albeit a bit worn over time. The accomplished jazzy Gary Husband (a spry 47!) drums here. I love his work with Holdsworth and whole host of other artists. From Bill Lordan (BLT) to Reg Isodore (Truce), they always pick a great drummer.

43 songs and 60 minutes. What's scary is I can pick out the demarcations between parts of his "mini-epics" (Total Broth Retain, clever!). The songs cover a wide variety of styles but they move between prog and pop seamlessly.

Check it out. It will take you longer to laugh and comprehend the song titles and lyrics than to hear the songs. "58 notes"...I didn't count them but I believe him! My favorites are How Haiku Works, Questions for the Real World, Bowling Alley...hell they're all funny...and good. "Do The Carpet" cracks me up, and has been in my head at inopportune moments for a week now. Thanks John

Body: To all my friends,
Just want to alert you that Rick and Roll, a DJ on www.auralmoon.com, a GREAT prog rock internet radio station, will have our new tune "Now and Forever" (although it is rough draft) and one track from my solo CD "Starship Universe", the Deodato cover "2001: Also Rocked Zarathustra."
Rick is putting us up first at 8pm on Sunday, Feb.10 and on his show's repeat on Monday, Feb.11 at 1:00pm.

Rick is a true ally of my project and I had the great pleasure of meeting him in person at the Prog Day festival last Labor Day weekend. If you love progressive rock, Aural Moon is a great place to hear it online. If you're not too familiar with the genre, let me tell you, stay at Aural Moon for awhile and you will be hooked. There are SO many fantastic bands playing prog. It's an honor and a humbling experience to be on the same station with them. Please tune in!

Hey Rick, the guys and I want to say THANK YOU for the way you've supported us. It really feels lonely being a no-name prog band when you can't get appreciated by progheads because there's just so much stuff for them to choose from and not enough of them to expect that a significant number of them will give you enough of a listen to purchase what you put out, and besides that, finding gigs where prog is going to be accepted is like the proverbial needle in a haystack. Many other prog stations have taken "Starship Universe" but except for you and Mary Campbell at wwww.thedividngline.com, nobody takes us seriously. Yet every show we do, we are seeing people get their minds blown. We did this Capital Ale House show last Jan.12 and we had about ten prog heads who came because it said "progressive rock" in the newspaper listing. They were very impressed. If we could get a large prog show gig we could really make an impression but they always want Magenta or Spiraling or Ambrosia and who can blame them? So we just want to show you some love and we keep spreading the word about The Moon. I continue to look for a Baltimore show. I may contact this Tolerance band and see whether we can open for them. Thanks from all three of us, man.
