Re: OT: Sabbath countrified
http://upload-gdc.mtv.com/bands/arch...reunion2.jhtml :
"MTV: Speaking of Pantera, they're among a number of groups from Soundgarden to the Cardigans who have covered vintage Sabbath songs. Do you have sort of a favorite Sabbath cover? OZZY: Not really. I like the Cardigans version (of "Iron Man"). Having such a little girl sing such scary lyrics kind of is weird. BILL: I like... what was that band that did "Supernaut"? Who's that? GEEZER: 1000 Homo DJ's (featuring Ministry's Al Jourgensen). BILL: Yeah, I like that, and I like Faith No More when they did "War Pigs." I thought that was quite nice. TONY: I think with the Cardigans, that was a complete different set... They treated it in a completely different way from as any other band would. It was real, "Who's that?" ... I thought it was a joke when I first heard it. Somebody played it in a radio station and said, "Have you heard this one?" I thought it was they were messing about. But it was good. It was certainly completely different." -Methem |

Re: OT: Sabbath countrified
The Faith no more cover is really good. Anthrax does a fine version of Sabbath Bloody, and although none of the guitar leads are present, the Primus (w/ Ozzy) cover of NIB is propulsive.
