Sixpence None the Richer had a terrible relationship with their first record company, and so when they switched for their third album they wrote four songs about it! "We Have Forgotten/Anything/The Waiting Room" and "Moving On." I highly recommend the album (self-titled). Here is a section from "Anything."

The responses keep drifting away from the original question. But, one of the best of all time is Todd Rundgren - he was required to produce one more single for (Bearsville I thnk), and his result - "I don't want to work, I just want to bang on the drum all day" - became one of his biggest hits of all time - how's that for irony?
