songs that make me switch the station...

Rick's thread in Music Suggestions got me thinking about the times that I just can't listen to whatever pops up on the Moon, so I thought I'd start a thread.

you should know, however, that this is a fairly rare occurrence!

anyway, for one, the Captain Beefheart song, Wild Life just came on, and I just couldn't listen to that. definitely not what I think of as prog.

the only other things I can think of off-hand are the occasional Frank Zappa self-indulgent pieces. there is much FZ that I like, but again, some things just don't seem prog to me.

so, anybody else, or have I just turned myself into a pariah?

Re: songs that make me switch the station...

I agree with you on the Capt. Beefheart and the FZ, Rogor, although I do not switch them off.

I switch off when Tarentel, or worse (for me), GYBE come up.

Re: songs that make me switch the station...

I'm not even sure if they are still on here, but Magma does it for me. I run to the mp3 library. Beefheart doesn't do it either.

And when I want to get rid of Lotus, I request a long Tarentel piece

Re: songs that make me switch the station...

I'm not sure of the names of them, but I'm going to start taking notes!

I thought "Woe" was one band, but I'm not certain.

I know there's another song by someone where they just talked.

Project Vector's kind of a wimpy band.

Oh yeah, Phish. That "Tweezer" song drives me nuts.

Fun thread.

I like Woe. Punk meets cool jazz - what's not to love?

I looked into it. That James Brown was a Gnosis song. Gnosis has a quite a few songs that have never been removed. However, the song was not set to "S" status (which means it should not have been requestable). It was still at "C". So, there must have been a bug, or someone cued it up.

Is there a way to check? this isn't the first time Gnosis songs have bubbled to the surface.

Thanks...
