Glad you found that. It was fun looking through the evolution of the posts and the replies. What I learned was:

1) Just how much non-prog we all love. There's no reason to hide that....

2) Quantum Jo with a classical record, Gamalon, and AC/DC. Now THAT's range (or scizophrenia)! Damn I miss that guy.

3) That I bitched about doing a list and said it would change, yet I don't think it did.

4) How the thread teetered periously close to evolving into a King's X thread.

5) And finally, how underrepresented we all are in the forum, the more responses, the move fun and variation.

Someday I have to do a Top 100.

Agreed. There's plenty of interesting and good music out there, regardless of the genre.

Even rap, something that seems to be so dreaded here, can be good. While I'm not an expert, I would say/guess that some well-done instrumental hiphop fused with some jazzy stuff, for example, makes a pretty delicious combination. Well, not for every ear...
