Request
Great to hear War of the Worlds again after all these years. It was never one of my favorites of this genre, but still had some good moments, and some very good contributors.
My two favorites of this type of music are A440's "Ulysses: The Greek Suite" and, especially, Alan Parsons' debut, "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" which, for me, is the high point of the genre. The latter had exquisite album cover art, too. (Remember cover art!?) To my knowledge, A440 was never heard from again after Ulysses. Alan Parsons, of course, was heard from many times after Tales, though his later albums were, IMHO, pathetic efforts tailored for top-40 playlists. So my requests are Tales and Ulysses. I like the CD remix of Tales. Purists may scoff, but it addresses most weaknesses of the original, especially the last track. Although on the down side, it adds a lot more of the pretentious spoken word stuff, which I could easily live without.

As for your two requests, I'll see where I can work them in. Thanks for listening. And yes, good cover art lurks somewhere in the background these days. Check The Flaming Lips' latest (Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots) and Audioslave's recent debut album. Good artwork is out there, somewhere. It's just smaller. Tommy - Extended Playa |

I used to perform a laser show to part of that piece (War of the Worlds).
Have fun! Avian |
