Some ideas for future shows

Hey EP, I've got some ideas for future shows. How about this: playing the "multi-part pieces" that span different albums, and playing them together. For example:

Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part I -Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part II -Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part III -Three of a Perfect Pair
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part IV -The ConstruKction of Light

The Enemy Within (Part One of "Fear") -Grace Under Pressure
The Weapon (Part Two of "Fear") -Signals
Witch Hunt (Part Three of "Fear") -Moving Pictures
Freeze (Part Four of "Fear") -Vapor Trails

Tubular Bells
Tubular Bells II
Tubular Bells III
The Millenium Bell

Taurus 1 -QE2
Taurus 2 -Five Miles Out
Taurus 3 -Crises

etc., etc., etc...

I really like teh Larks Idea - although we'd probably all realize that it's the same song. :-)

Thumbs up to the TB idea, too

Nice job quoting yourself Spaz. Heh.

Those sound pretty interesting. I'll work up a few others and maybe do a show just focused on that.

The Rush one is especially neat, since they were rumored to be playing the Fear suite on the last tour (although I never heard of it happening).

Unfortunately, I think I'd be the only one to enjoy a string of conceptual continuity Zappa tunes.

You mean basically play his own compilation albums, like Have I Offended Someone? That's a thematic comp!

Nah, more than just a theme, he had different phrases, objects, and characters that permeated his work. For example, Billy the Mountain appears in both Billy The Mountain and The Adventures of Gregory Peccary. Poodles are mentioned all over the place. The sears poncho pops up on both Apostrophe and Over-Nite Sensation.

In many of the early Mothers albums, there's a pig-like snorting sound that they called snorks. Those little bastards are all over the place.

We shall see.

Good Gawd! I think my head might explode from that setlist. Hmm, I may just have to do one all-encompasing epic albums show. The cygnus and fear quadrogy ones are especially cool. It may not be whole albums, but you can bet it's related.

And yes, I'll get to the appleseed cast one soon. I dunno why I keep forgetting to go through the whole damn thing (arrrrrgh!).
