I agree with you about Steve Smith and Ansley Dunbar being amazing drummers. Speaking of Dunbar, some of the most incredible drumming on a Journey tune would have to be from the song called Kohoutek from Journey's first album. Check out the single kick drum stuff when the pace picks up a minute or two into the tune. I've always been blown away by this display of single kick speed and power. It makes the calf on my right leg hurt whenever I hear it.
