Depends what you mean by "prog".
Many definitions today.

William, i'll give this name to my son if i ever got one one day.
William Bruford said that progressive rock is not a vulgar tag. And Steve Howe talks about a kinda eternal wave. Rock upgrades, i.e. it is progressive. But it's not dying, and too many rock bands of all sort, even hard rock bands, enjoy using "rock is dead", "rock is dying" within the lyrics. But if there is any rocker, let's say that Neil Young himself said rock and roll will never die. I say noone should worry about rock's end. cause it'll allways be, and the longer the better.
Now, the term progressive used means the bands called as progressive rock bands are the one to listen to in order to go beyond rock i.e. to take a slow ride through life after the glauque punk. Not death.
