We are all seing the disaster in New Orleansn not speaking about the towns on the coast in Mississipi. Shouldn't we not organize a help fond to all the ppl in NO from the moon? And let Jim orgaize the donation?.

I am personally very moved, so I would like to hear your oppinion.

If we decide to do it, let us do it fast.....I will be donating tomorrow to the German Red Cross, but I am not sure if it arrives.

Lotus

The hearts of moonies are saddened by the sorrow that is N.O.
Here in the States every school, every corner has bowls of donations being collected. Most of us on the web have gone toThe American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund Thank you and all who are helping the helpless...The Moon need not make a separate fund to help, there are so many ways in place already...What we need to do is give to them.. ....We all will lift the weak and make them whole again.

I think it best to make the donations via one of the already established relief fund agencies.

This past weekend, some of the local fire departments were on street corners collecting funds. I dropped a $20 in "the boot". We went to eat last eve and the restaurant was also taking up a donation from patrons asking only $1 -- I dropped a $5 there. Mrs. VAX's company (Bristol Myers Squibb) will match any donations made by employees so we will likely donate $100 or more via BMS who will match the amount and forward to the Red Cross. I'd suggest that those that have similar setups with their employers go that route as well. Maybe, if but for a brief fleeting moment, we can make good citizens of our country's corporate citizens.

I've already donated to Red Cross, and my company also has a matching program.

Very nice thought, Lotus, but I agree with the idea to donate to already established charities...

Vax, I'm in Dublin right now and there's been a few Guiness sightings!

Man, the Guiness brewery/storehouse is friggin' huge! It spans blocks and blocks. I'm taking the tour tomorrow.

Cool Jim... The Gravity Bar is the London Eye of Dublin. Enjoy.

BTW, how's the weather there. Torrential rains when I was there... never got my pic in front of St. James Gate because.

Other ways

And don't hesitate to be a bit creative in your giving. If you do something ...well, creative, try to parlay it into fund-raising if you can. I have some art that hung in a show at a campus-area coffe shop a while back. I'm going to approach the owner about setting up a "silent auction" or something...

Good hearts on the Moon!

Alothough a little late, I think it was a great idea to put the link to the American Red Cross as first item on the AM Hompage.

I think with this and with the Moonies anf guests visiting us donating what they can, Am did it's efforts to promote the help for all these ppl who lost everything.
