A request for the future

Could you get around to playing Jethro Tull's Thick as a brick on Extended play some time?
I rate it as one of the best Tull albums ever. The way Ian Anderson fooled the world with his story about Gerald "Little Milton" Bostock writing the lyrics was wonderful. I saw Tull play this at the Royal Albert Hall in London in March 1972 and it was a SUPERB gig. To hear it played in it's entirety would be fantastic.
Thanks for a great station. The best rock music ever!!!

That is a good suggestion - definately one album that should be heard from beginning to end.

Tull, why not?

Yeah, that's a great suggestion. Thick As a Brick is a great album, and definitely one of the great confusing twists in album concepts. Well, that ties in with a request I got earlier for a Godspeed You Black Emperor album, so this should be a pretty schizophrenic show next week.

I guess my other selection for the week be a surprise then. I'll trol the archives and let y'all know when I come up with the last element for the set.

which Godspeed?

Which Godspeed album? The double disc "Life Your Skinny Fists Like Antennae to Heaven" is LONG (in a good way), and "Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada" is relatively short. I'm guessing that it would then have to be "F#A# Infinity" or that new one. Just curious.

Kanada

Actually, I'm going to play the Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada EP. Although it's an EP (28 min), it's almost as long as quite a few albums from the days of Vinyl. Of course, I wouldn't be playing it if there wasn't a feel of completeness. There's quite a lot going on in those 28 minutes. (and hey, isn't Close To The Edge just a bit over 30? )

Cool

I like "Moya/BBF3," but that guy is a nut. He's got a seriously filthy mouth too. I really like the Moya part best. If it was straight instrumental, it'd be a five-star disc. With BBF3's ramblings, it's drops to three-stars. But I like Godspeed. Have you heard the new one yet? It's on my list to buy (which is currently at 196 individual purchases!

Although the spoken parts get out of hand, it just amazes me how it's scored behind him. It's just like you'd think of film music being scored behind a monologue, it flows with him as he gets enraged and then calms down.

I've heard that the two latest albums are both very good, although I'm never seen them in stores around here. Well, I guess it's back to online shopping for them. It would be so much easier if I just didn't like so much music . . .
