Mississippi loses another shining light. B.B. King joins the pantheon of late, great Mississippi musicians: Robert Johnson, Elvis Presley, Mahalia Jackson, Willie King, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Sam Cooke, Muddy Waters, Tammy Wynette, Hank Jones, Jimmie Lunceford, Lester Young, Jimmy Reed, Jimmie Rodgers, Conway Twitty, Sonny Boy Williams II, Howlin' Wolf, Pinetop Perkins, and pieces of Blind Melon.
Fortunately, we've still got Charley Pride, Ike Turner, Robert Walker, and Ace Cannon. Unfortunately, we also have to claim Lance Bass, Britney Spears, 3 Doors Down, and LeAnn Rimes.
