The dulcid tones of David Sylvian are on display this week, with an assist from the great Bob Fripp. Some of these are new to the Moon...enjoy!
from "The First Day" (Sylvian and Fripp) God's Monkey Jean The Birdman Firepower Brightness Falls 20th Century Dreaming (A Shaman's Song) Bringing Down the Light More aggressive sounding than his usual fare, we'll hear the entire CD except for the 17 minute, too long "Darshan" (we'll hear an edited version a bit later though). "Light" is all Frippertronics. from singles and outtakes from "The First Day" Damage The First Day Earthbound (Starblind) The Blinding Light of Heaven Darshan More like his usual fare, and still with Fripp. from "Gone To Earth" Taking the Veil Laughter And Forgetting Before the Bullfight Wave River Man Silver Moon The Healing Place Upon This Earth "Veil" has Fripp, and is one of his most well known songs. Lots of Bill Nelson, and lots of jazz and mellow parts. A great listen. from "Secrets From the Beehive" and "Dead Bees On A Cake" Krishna Blue Thalhiem All of My Mother's Names I Surrender Alphabet Angel Forbidden Colours Orpheus When Poets Dreamed of Angels These two records are already on the Moon. Sylvian is great, and really has a sound all his own. and I think the word you're looking for is "dulcet".
