Re: Christmas Programming

I think that unlimited requesting will make unbelievable delays. The other two propositions are great, Avian! That would be cool to have something special during Christmas time.

I wonder...how about playing Lotus and Rogor's shows at that time?

Re: Christmas Programming

If it's going to be Christmas prog (and why not, it is Christmas), I have some tracks I'd like to contribute. I was working on a Christmas show to air in lieu of Rick's show (he did say I could use he free hours) but since it's already been decided, I've canned that.

I'm not doing a show next week. As for the hours, we do have all day. All I suggest is hearing the Tull CD, which I uploaded. I don't think anything's been decided. Just discussed.

Re: Christmas Programming

Hi gang.

I voted for the Requests option but if this is the thing that gets done I hope that people don't abuse the system and just RQ every 10 minutes. I like the idea that your RQ is played "immediately" but still think that a limit of, say, one RQ an hour be applied.

I also like the Christmas prog idea. Tull's Christmas album is really fine and there are great tunes on that. Same goes for Jon's Three Ships album.

Whatever happens I'll be tuning in.

Re: Christmas Programming

Why don't we do a combination -- maybe a combination of requests (immediate with a one per hour limit) mixed with Christmas Prog? And if anyone want s to record a holiday or Christmas message, we can play that as well!

Does anyone have a copy of 3 Ships they'd like to donate to the station?

I put mine in receiving, outside of the folders. I'm not home to check but there may be an xmas music folder.

Re: Christmas Programming

I created a folder called "Christmas Folder" (clever, hah?) in receiving. Put the Christmas stuff there.

I've added all 3 volumes of Ho-Ho-Hoey, 2 volumes of "Merry Axemas", and 3 volumes of "Twisted Christmas" which, while not prog, is pretty hilarious. I also moved the Tull and 10.10 from Rick and Moses respectively.

Hate to be a killjoy, but I don't think the request thing is going to work well logistically. We could have a 24 hour long queue by the time I wake up.

that's tempting...

do not use Springschiest in any sentence regading anything decent..

that Kinks song is funny...maybe not moon material but technically neither is the Hoey or the other thing Jim is uploading.

Hey it was just a fun suggestion...

(I think secretly vax wants Neil Diamond)...

Here's my suggestion -- a mix of Christmas prog, and requests. The requests would be two per hour, but with no delay from them going into the queue.

For the staff who are hanging around the station, they can feel free to moderate the requests - move them around to avoid much duplication, etc - ya know DJ.

A technical question for AM staff - what's the easiest way to hand the christmas prog? I can certainloy write a PAL script that would insert some random christmas prog into the queue. But it might be a little complicated. But if there's going to be someone around to manually DJ the day, that would be the best. Let me know if anyone would like (or can) volunteer for such duty.

I'll likely be at my desk when I can to hide from the misero-brats. I'll pop in some tracks.

I'm going to rip some stuff tomorrow and start uploading to the Christmas music folder.

Christmas Day (Sunday) I will only be around for a couple of hours. I'll run the Tull CD and maybe a few other things 9-10:30 EST (AM). Everything else I'll be afk....so slot me in then.

Are we running it the day before also?
