Yeah Yeah Yeah! Just fix the title of the Systems Theory album and the Emerson/Berry/Palmer = Three thing and I'll continue my subversive plan to crash AuralMoon once and for all.

Okay. I just finished uploading 23 new album covers. In doing so I found 3 things fit for fixing.
1. Eddie Jobson's album "Zink" should be: ARTIST: Eddie Jobson - ALBUM: Zink Instead it's labeled: ARTIST: Eddie Jobson/Zinc - ALBUM: The Green Album. There's confusion, so check out this link: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...057gjvrj6iw~T1 2. Systems Theory's album "Demos 1999-2000" is labeled correctly on all the songs but one. That song is "Cool Vibe of Asia C." It is labeled as "Demos for the Debut." 3. Bruford Levin Upper Extremities, or B.L.U.E. recorded two albums. The self-titled one and then BLUE Nights. http://www.disciplineglobalmobile.com/cat/index.htm Both albums are on AM. One is "Bruford Levin" - "Upper Extremities" and the other is "Bruford Levin Upper Extremities" - "BLUE Nights." So, whether it's: Bruford Levin Upper Extremities - Bruford Levin Upper Extremities Bruford Levin Upper Extremities - BLUE Nights --or-- Bruford/Levin - Upper Extremities Bruford/Levin - BLUE Nights ... I think they should be uniform. It's the same artist under two different names in SAM, so they could play back-to-back. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's a back door around the 3-hour rule. My vote is for "Bruford Levin Upper Extremities" because that's where the BLUE acronym comes from that is used on both album covers. In fact, even at DGM's site, if you click on the Bruford/Levin BLUE Nights album you get this write up: "Bruford Levin Upper Extremities recorded live ..." so it seems like the official band name is Brufod Levin Upper Extremities. -man that was long and boring, wasn't it?

Make it four.
4. On AM there is a song by "Emerson, Lake & Berry" on an album called "Three to the Power of 3." This is incorrect on both counts. First of all the three men in question are Emerson, Berry, and Palmer, not Lake. Regardless, the band was called "Three" and the album was "To the Power of Three" and not "THREE to the power of 3." Three - To the Power of Three - CORRECT Emerson, Lake & Berry - Three to the Power of 3 - INCORRECT. Ok, I'm done now. PS, glad to see all the GY!BE is now GYBE! ![]()

WRONG!!!!!!!
Quote:
That is what it's called. Zink? What is allmusic smoking? It's labelled exactly right. There's also other Jobson Zinc records I believe with different colors (but I'm not sure). IT'S NOT TO BE FIXED I bought this in 1983 right after I saw him with UK. Not my favorite album, but I at least know it. Please stop wasting your time....my question is how did you think this was an error? Were you told? I am really really confused. It seems as if I'm making a big deal over this. But I am completely baffled about how you even thought this was wrong. Please explain. And by the way if you take out the "3" from the playlist, maybe we won't have to hear it anymore. Never di care for it ![]() |

I'll still find out, just for fun...I don't know about a "nickname" per se. It's actually called "The Green Album". |

In his own words...
Hey guys!
Not to burst in, but... In the interview below, Jobson refers to "Zinc" as "my band". The confusion is fairly legit looking at the cover, but I think his goal was to form a band, but keep his name up front... More like "Eddie Jobson's Zinc" (in spite of the "/"). He discusses "green" as an underlying concept to the album too. http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/users/ron...an/jobson.html It' s funny, but my faint recollection of the LP (mine is "in storage" ![]() Cheers! |

Thank you for posting this because: I just sent an email to my friend and forgot to ask. I have the record here. The Green Album is on the spine. A lot of records don't have the title on the front. But almost all have them on the spine. It is as you posted and as I said. I was trying to say not to assume there's a mistake because the name isn't listed. Assume it's legit not what some music service says. |

Ok, well, AMG has been known to make mistakes from time to time. Heck, Tony Palacios' listed genre is rap, even though the pictures is him with his metal band Gaurdian. Anyway, The cover is on there now. As for the album, it may or may not be Zinc or The Green Album or any combo, but I can't see the artist being "Eddie Jobson/Zinc." I think we've got a situation here like Tom Petty and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. If you want to say it's technically two different artists, ok, but song from "both" are on the TP&tH's greatest hits, and they get mixed play live, so I figure it's the same artist. Like Tony Levin and The Tony Levin Band - they're both Tony Levin.

If it's a question of having the same artist grouped together, by all means, remove the Zinc. Same with Steve Morse/Steve Morse Band, etc.
In fact I wouldn't even stress out about that stuff. But since you are, here are my votes: Bruford Levin Upper Extremities - I saw them in concert, the show was billed as such. Your vote is the same as mine on this. Three - you are correct again. I played a Schon/Hammer tune last week, and it came up Jan Hammer (only). As long as we're all straight that album is not "Zinc", that's OK. |

Spaz is right, though. It's a 'Tag' thing. I could go into details on how tags work at the file level as well as the SAM level, if you want. It'd be technical, but it'd give me good translation practice, as I'm going to be working with DBAs in the near future and will need to be able to translate from Geek to Human. Roger -Dot- Lee, and it's a lot tougher than it sounds, believe me.

Stand Up
A Jethro Tull tune from Stand Up played today, and WPN reported it was from 1985. It should be 1969.
The Shine On You Crazy Diamond tracks probably need ID3v2 tags because a requester can't tell if they're requesting Parts I-V or Parts VI-IX or whatever they are. Anyhow they're truncated as is. (Really, I'm not trying to complain or anything. Just pointing stuff out.)
