Here is some news for you:
Sun Ra Arkestra - 'The Creator Of The Universe'
A 2 CD set, volume one in a new series entitled "'The Lost Reel Collection', and this one is the holy grail of Sun Ra history! Two-CD set of the Arkestra playing live in a SF warehouse in 1971, and a lecture by Ra from his legendary 1971 residency at UC Berkeley. Recently the Transparency label was approached with a collection of eleven reel-to-reel tapes of previously unknown Sun Ra recordings. None of this material is on any tape trader list or in any discography.
V/A - 'Best of Krautrock Vol.1' (DVD)

"....contains fifteen songs, the majority taken from 'Beat Club', a highlight is the seventeen-minute live version of Novalis 'Sonnenwende'. The bonus material of the DVD contains a documentary from 1975 and includes bands like Pell Mell, Kraan, Tangerine Dream, Hoelderlin, Atlantic and also an interview with Lothar Meid, who talks about his turbulent years with Ammmon Düül and Passport. Other features are biographies and discographies with the original covers of all participating bands" released on May 4th.
Embryo - 'Vagabunden Karawane' (DVD)

"Filmmaker Werner Penzel accompanied the group Embryo at the end of the 70s on their eight-month-long trip from Munich to Calcutta. Back then, Embryo was one of the most innovative German rock bands. On their country adventure trip, the group encounters foreign cultures and their music. The film captures the strain of the trip as well as the social and political situations of the featured countries" The bonus section of the DVD also contains Werner Penzels short film 'Babaji and Dokri Maa' and 'Haiku. An Import DVD released May 4th.
Rattles - 'Beat Made in Germany' (DVD)

"All the hits of this important German band who played with the beatles and the Stones s are on this DVD. Interviews with people who were there at the time, for example James Last. The bonus material of the DVD includes solo projects of the Rattles, for example Wonderland, Randy Pie, and Moti Special" Released on May 4th
Birth Control - 'History' (DVD)

"This DVD contains a complete concert from the year 1996, the legendary Beat-Club performance of 1971, the performance of Ingrid Steeger´s debut film "Me, a groupie“ and many more TV performances of the 1970s. The DVD concludes with a documentary, in which Nossi describes the turbulent history of the band. Other bonus features are a sixteen-page booklet with the complete biography and a complete discography" Released on May 4th.
