The Moody Blues - Live at the RAH 6 October
Another beautiful performance by The Moodies in London.
It never ceases to amaze me how much the music of this band moves me. And not only me. There were a lot of "blissed out" people leaving the hall at the end of the night. Many generations of families were in attendance. I saw one family where Grannie, Mother, Father, Son and Daughter and their two children were happily dancing in one of the Royal Albert Hall boxes. It goes to show the enduring quality of The Moodies' music. Ah...The music. They opened with "Lovely to see you again" - wonderful starter. Justin's voice is as good as ever. The vocal harmonies of Justin, John and the two girl backing vocalists were tear jerking. Graeme was, well, just Graeme...LOL! Yes VAX he did The Graeme boogie during "Higher and Higher." Other songs that stood out were, Tuesday Afternoon (amazing to think that DoFP was released FORTY ONE years ago.......it's timeless and stunning and beautiful), The Voice, The other side of life, Isn't life strange?, I know you're out there somewhere, Never comes the day, December snow, Are you sitting comfortably?, Steppin' in a slide zone and, of course, Nights in white satin, surely one of the lovliest songs ever written. They came back and encored with Ride my see-saw and then we all went home. Happier and more at peace with the world than we were two and a half hours earlier. I'm going to see them again on Wednesday. Probably the same set but who cares when music and atmosphere are that good? Bring it on!!!!!! |

Re: The Moody Blues - Live at the RAH 6 October
Wonderful Show for sure KW!
We saw essentially the same one two years ago in a rather small, intimate venue in Indianapolis called the Murat Theater. We had balcony seats that were plush, roomy and provided a great view. For those of you who may not have had a chance to catch this particular tour (for lack of a better term...), you might be interested in purchasing the Lovely To See You DVD... very nicely done.

Hi KW, excellent review, just what I would expect from the Moodies. Wish I could have been there. Must look up that DVD Dez, thanks for that one.
