Show 37 - Led Zeppelin

Every so often, I want to play a show like this. Let's see how it goes. A busy week, so I'll just give out the basics. I have a few amusing stories on the voice overs. The breaks indicate the voice overs.

Immigrant Song
For Your Life
The Rover
That's The Way
Kashmir

Carouselambra
The Wanton Song
When The Levee Breaks
Four Sticks (Page and Plant from "No Quarter")
Trampled Underfoot
The Battle of Evermore
In The Light

(next four from the Song Remains the Same)
Celebration Day
The Song Remains The Same
The Rain Song
No Quarter
Nobody's Fault But Mine
What Is And What Should Never Be
Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You

The Ocean
Whole Lotta Love
Ten Years Gone
Dazed & Confused
The Crunge
Bring It On Home

Achilles' Last Stand
Since I've Been Loving You

The last two stand on their own.

Enjoy!

Boy, just the list is kicking some old crain bells, er brain cells, into action! The Zep came on the scene while I was in HS, and one particular memory comes to mind. I'm in Chemistry class (at a Lab School on the University campus) taking an exam. Just out the window, and across the street is a stretch of the campus fraternity houses. We're hunched over our test pages, quietly scribbling, erasing, scribbling.... more erasing... "How many moles does it take to make a bowl of Avogadro's Dip???"

Apparently the nearest fraternity was prepping for a serious rendition (audition?) of Animal House, and was testing the sound system for the band, and cranked the volume "waaAAAy" up just in time for us to all clearly hear:

WaaAAAy down inside! Woman!! You neeed!!! Looooooooooooooovvvve!!!!!

Hell, even the teacher cracked up! We all returned to our scribbling and erasing....

Great line-up Rick, and yes, the Last Stand stands on its own!!

Looking forward to it!

Excellent line up there Rick.........

I think I'm going to have to have a tactical Migraine on monday so I can stay home to listen to the replay.

Wouldn't it be appropriate to have the last song be Achilles'?

Anyway, what can go wrong with Zep? Nothing. Just wondering where Coda was? Bonzo's Montreaux and Ozone Baby really hit the spot.

I remember that record, that slipped my mind. I don't own that, nor the boxed set. That has some gems. I go into that a bit on my voice overs, but I was pressed for time on the forums, so I avoided my usual prattle here.

On reflection, I maybe could have chopped a few of the more known tunes and included the others, but I didn't want to delay the show too many weeks.

Live and learn....

Thanks for the good show, Rick.

Though, if I'm allowed to be a bit provocative: if I were forced to choose between these guys and the 1970's Sabbath... well, you probably guess how that would go.
