Dec 28 & 29 - The One With Albums *Replay*
I. War of The Worlds (Jeff Wayne) 1978
Jeff Wayne's 'War Of The Worlds' ('78) is an electronic musical stew of the HG Wells novel with some notable guest stars. Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), and Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann) all help to provide vocals that back up the narration by Richard Burton. Trust me when I say it's heavy on the electronics. Although I prefer Journey To The Center Of The Earth, this one is still very worthy of your time.

Eve of the War (Wayne) - 9:06
Horsell Common and the Heat Ray (Wayne) - 11:36
The Artilleryman and the Fighting Machine (Wayne) - 10:28
Forever Autumn (Osborne/Vigrass/Wayne) - 7:55
Thunder Child (Osborne/Wayne) - 6:02
Red Weed, Pt. 1 (Wayne) - 5:51
The Spirit of Man (Osborne/Wayne) - 11:36
Red Weed, Pt. 2 (Wayne) - 7:00
Brave New World (Osborne/Wayne) - 12:08
Dead London (Wayne) - 8:37
Epilogue, Pt. 1 (Wayne) - 4:35
Epilogue, Pt. 2 (Wayne) - 1:49
II. The Power To Believe (King Crimson) 2003 Just released this past Monday, King Crimson's latest album 'The Power To Believe' is one of their most captivating in the last few years. Drawing on the last three years of touring, Crimson has managed to work out some huge tunes and string them together in classic fashion. The time they took to fully develop these tunes had definitely helped to make a stronger album than The ConstruKtion of Light.

The Power to Believe I: A Cappella (Belew/King Crimson) - 0:44
Level Five (Belew/King Crimson) - 7:17
Eyes Wide Open (Belew/King Crimson) - 4:08
Elektrik (Belew/King Crimson) - 7:59
Facts of Life (Intro) (Belew/King Crimson) - 1:38
Facts of Life (Belew/King Crimson) - 5:05
The Power to Believe II (Belew/King Crimson) - 7:43
Dangerous Curves (Belew/King Crimson) - 6:42
Happy With What You Have to Be Happy With (Belew/King Crimson) - 3:17
The Power to Believe III (Belew/King Crimson) - 4:09
The Power to Believe IV: Coda [live] (Belew/King Crimson) - 2:29
III. Mainstream (Quiet Sun) 1976 Recorded at the same time as 'Diamond Head', Quiet Sun's 'Mainstream' ('76) found Phil Manzanera and his old college band mates rehearsing and recording some of their old material. Much of it, conceived between 1970 and 1971, sits far on the side of hard experimental rock--loaded with electronics.

Sol Caliente
Trumpets With Motherhood
Bargain Classics
R.F.D.
Mummy Was an Asteroid, Daddy Was a Small Non-Stick Kitchen Utensil
Trot
Rongwrong
|
