Interzone - 5/15/07: Featured Artists IV (replay)

Hey all,

I figured I'd feature a 'golden oldie' show from over a year ago as I try to find time to finish new programming.

Hello, this week I will be focusing on three Featured Artists who you might hear normally on this program, but in limited amounts. It will give you a chance to give you a broader indication of these artist's work. This week, the featured artists will be ECM guitarist Steve Tibbetts, the German world-fusion group Embryo, and Italian avant-rockers Deus Ex Machina.

As I probably mentioned at the time of the original airing, Ur is one of the best songs ever written. And Yr is a record that brought me of age in prog, a distant second to KC's Discipline. 17 yrs old and a college freshman, listening to Yr. One of my fondest memories.....

Yeah, the Yr album is indeed a great one Rick. And Tibbetts is certainly a guitarist/composer that, while highly respected, could use a little more recognition.

Speaking of your neck of the woods, the only time I saw him was at the old Birchmere..he closed with "Funkytown" (I think he's a Minnesotan)....
