New Pat Metheny Group, Earthworks Remasters, Soft Machine

Join the GAGLIARCHIVES, Saturday Night at 10pm Eastern
Time, for program 897, as we feature new music from the Pat Metheny Group titled The Way Up. We'll also feature two discs in our top 20 this week. Derek Sherinian's powerful Mythology CD and German trio the Counter-World Experience and their Fraktal CD. We'll feature new music from Brian Hopper and his disc titled ...If Ever I Am... featuring Hugh Hopper, Robert Wyatt, Francis Knight, Graham Flight, Robert Fenner and Ansy. Also, an excellent new double CD release from Brazilian project Finnegan's Wake and their new album titled 4th, recorded in Belgium.

Tonight we will be featuring some new and recent reissues remasters, and archives. First up, the beautiful and mesmerizing Spanish duo of Feliu Gasull and Joan Albert Amargos and their album simply titled Feliu and Joan Albert from 1977. We'll also feature the new Soft Machine archive recorded in the Netherlands in 1970 titled Breda Reactor. Last week we featured the two personal all time favorites from Bill Bruford, One of A Kind and Feels Good To Me. Tonight we will feature the new remasters of Bill Bruford's Earthworks. 1987's self titled, and 1989's Dig? Two classic snapshots of Bill's evolution. Also last week tracked Klaus Schulze En=trance from 1988. Tonight we will spotlight another new reissue and the 1975 disc Picture Music. We also feature some recent favorites, Billy Cobham's 1973 classic, Spectrum. This gem features Tommy Bolin and Jan Hammer to name a few. We'll feature German fusion band Embryo and the live Bremen 1971 disc. We'll also feature Italian fusion band from 1974 named Bauhaus and the archive live recording titled Stairway To Escher from 2003. We'll also celebrate the birthday of Fish as he turns 47. We'll also feature music from our 6th week, #1 disc and The Mars Volta, and their explosive new release, Francis The Mute.
