Who knows?
I guess what I mean sharc, is that there are plenty of other bands to keep my interest. I know I'm not interested in a reunion where they just try to sound like they did. Genesis is of course a special band to me and many others.
It's a well-known fact that Hackett did not really fit in the main songwriting duties in Genesis. He made the right choice by leaving, and both camps put out great records. I still like the post-Hackett Genesis records. The problem is, Mike Rutherford is not as strong on lead as you need, and Banks and Rutherford need another writer to push them. It's good but lacks the fire.
Calling All Stations is on Bands and Rutherford. Weak songwriting.
So my thought is just let them do what thay want, and who cares what it sounds like? If it sounds good, I know I'm fine with that. Nothing else matters to me...let them make money etc. Let's just see what it sounds like.
I like Mossy's theory, it's logical.
