Still, I hold my post is objective in nature. I most certianly do not agree that TfTO heralds the end of Yes. In fact, IMHO it was a whole new beginning for the band.
As for what a band sounds like, I've heard this topic debated so much that I should have known not to bring it up. Specifically, it was directed towards King Crimson on Elephant-Talk (or Elephant-Turd if you are Adrian Belew). Basically, it's all nonsense at the core. A band sounds like it sounds at that point in time. Morphing and changing over time, you can't hold a band's sound to any one standard. However, I can still say that Yes sounds nothing like Pantera but at times is close in feel to other bands. Whatever the case, it's got a lot of space for interpretation.
Basically, all I can say is keep an open mind. Of course, that's what all this music is about anyway, huh?
