Dec 14 & 15 - Speeding Ahead

I. Grace Under Pressure (Rush) 1984

As the first Rush album to not feature Terry Brown in the production role, this album comes off a little differently than it's predecessor Signals. Synthisizers are more prevalant, although there are still some amazing songs here. Me likey, this album is great from top to bottom. (The Enemy Within is a part of the Fear uadrogy)

Distant Early Warning - 4:56
Afterimage - 5:03
Red Sector A - 5:09
The Enemy Within - 4:34
The Body Electric - 4:59
Kid Gloves - 4:18
Red Lenses - 4:43
Between the Wheels - 5:44

Music - Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson
Words - Neil Peart
II. Fragile (Yes) 1972

This is an album I'm amazed hasn't been played on the show yet. Comparable in purpose to the Umagumma studio disc (each band member gets to use their own material), this is such a diverse album that it's always fun to listen to.

Roundabout (Anderson/Howe) - 8:35
Cans and Brahms (Brahms) - 1:42
We Have Heaven (Anderson) - 1:39
South Side of the Sky (Anderson/Squire) - 7:58
Five Per Cent for Nothing (Bruford) - :37
Long Distance Runaround (Anderson) - 3:30
Fish (Schindleria Praematurus) (Squire) - 2:42
Mood for a Day (Howe) - 3:02
Heart of the Sunrise (Anderson/Bruford/Squire) - 11:32

Bonus Tracks:
America - 10:33
Roundabout (Early Mix) - 8:35
III. Thrak (King Crimson) 1995

Although King Crimson survives on strong albums like Larks' Tongues In Aspic and Discipline, there are quite a few odd and interresting albums like Lizard and Islands that have really defined their sound in my mind. Thrak sits somewhere in the middle. Although it contains some fiercecly rocking tracks like VROOM VROOM, THRAK, & Dinosaur; there are also tracks like Walking On Air and One Time that keep it balanced and purely in the realm of the crimson king.

Vrooom - 4:38
Coda: Marine 475 - 2:41
Dinosaur - 6:35
Walking on Air - 4:34
B'boom - 4:11
Thrak - 3:58
Inner Garden I - 1:47
People - 5:53
Radio I - :43
One Time - 5:21
Radio II - 1:02
Inner Garden II - 1:15
Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream - 4:50
Vrooom Vrooom - 5:37
Vrooom Vrooom: Coda - 3:00

Music - King Crimson
Words - Adrian Belew
Afterimage is one of my favorite songs by Rush. I listened to Fragile this morning. Thrakattak!

This is a great show. Hope I can hear it.

Hi,

Listening in and enjoying the stream very much indeed, thanks!

I find it amusing that in your intro to tonights EP you described Rush's *Grace Under Pressure* as one of the band's earlier works. I view anything starting with *Moving Pictures* as the "new stuff". :D

I think I'm becoming fossilized ;-)

An excellent stream and site you all have built, thank you!

Thanks!
Mako

Heh, interresting thoughts Mako. Rush is going on a 30th Anniversary tour next year, and Grace Under Pressure came only 10 years after the first album.

I'm sure all you geniuses out there can do the math

Tommy
