Cotm - #376 - 1977
Hello Aural Moon fans.
This weeks Corner of the Mooniverse takes us back to 1977. I am offering you three albums from that year, two with a touch of fusion or Jazz Rock and one who sets his own standards. We start off with the German band Aera. The album is Hand und Fuss. This is the groups 2nd album which follows the 1975 debut Humanum Est. The next album from '77 is Oops! Wrong Planet by Utopia. Todd Rundgren sets his own standards and falls into several niches. But I'm not going to place him into one any more specific that Progressive Rock. This album came up on iPod during shuffle play. I hadn't listened to this album in quite some time, which created a hankering to play it for you. To close out the show is the Gem of the Netherlands, Finch. Their '77 album is Galleons Of Passion. Their mix of Prog and Fusion is just so spot on. How can you not love them. I hope you all have a great week and enjoy the music during one of our broadcasts. |

Great Utopia album.:headscrat Prog Power Pop?:dunno:
The Track Trapped has one of my all time favorite lines: "Brother John saw visions of God. So they put him in chains for acting too odd. As the crowd shouted "Off with his head!". The priests said, "Have Mercy! Let's BURN him instead!". Trapped! Brilliant. |
