What's next?
 

I imagine most people have seen by now that Mat's last NMOM show will be on or about August 1, 2016. I want to thank Mat for all the work he has put into the show, and for the great job he has done for so long.

I have always liked the idea of a show featuring new releases, and would like to continue the idea after Mat's well earned respite. In the immediate weeks following Mat's departure, I will simply queue up a couple of hours of 2016 releases in the same time slots. The Lazy Ass NMOM will reign for awhile.

Next phase - is there anybody out there crazy enough to want to take on doing a new release show? If you think you might, send me a PM and let's discuss. My policy regarding shows has always been to let the host decide on the details of the format and such, with the caveat that I always maintain veto power. I don't think I've used said veto power yet.

I'd also suggest any volunteers talk to Mat and the other show hosts to get an idea of the commitment involved - a show is a big undertaking, and the new release show perhaps the biggest of all, given the results of the idiot that is always adding new music to the station :D Sifting through the new adds takes a fair amount of time. If there is going to be a new host/format/show, I want a fairly serious commitment, and since it's a volunteer position, I don't want someone resenting me for the amount of time required, after just a few weeks. :drdot:
