..it's the only Giant you have!

Did we do favorite songs before on another thread? Well PTF, start us off anyway!

How about that incredibly low note that Minnear sings on The Runaway? If there's a lower note on vinyl, I'd like to hear it.

And what is that babble in the middle of Advent of Panurge? (what a great song). It sounds like they say "are you good in bed" but I know that's not it.

And finally, even though there are clearly better tracks and albums, isn't the "Missing Piece" a hell of a lot of fun?

I'm surprised nobody mentions 'Nothing At All'

The drumsolo ruins it you think, or?

Rick and Roll 08-29-2003 09:42 PM

No CD at all

I only have the first Giant on album, and my record player's not hooked up. I can't remember what "Nothing At All" sounds like!

On a cassette, I taped most of the others (especially Alcard, which is a cool tune).

For one thing, it features marvellous harmony singing... But there's nothing of the vocal complexity of the later releases; more straight late-60s/early-70s hard rock. (Except – of course – for the experimentalism in the mid-section)
