Interzone - 4/24/07: ECM - VI
Hey Moonies!
This week I'll be continuing the series that explores the vast amount of music to be found on the ECM label. ECM emerged at a time when the US was setting most of the trends in the jazz recording business. Eicher’s vision was to bring new and contemporary ideas to classic music traditions while also producing records of distinct production quality. The end result is a diverse catalog of music in the jazz, jazz-rock, avant-garde, new age, and contemporary music veins. Here's the playlist: Steve Reich -Phases – Sections I-X-Pulse (edited)-(Music For 18 Musicians)--USA Masqualero -Tutte-(Bande À Part) --Norway Masqualero -3 for 5-(Bande À Part) --Norway Dino Saluzzi -Motojoro-(Mojotoro) --Argentina Everyman Band -Al Ur-(Without Warning) --USA Jack DeJohnette -Bayou Fever-(New Directions) --USA Louis Sclavis -Reponse a Gavotte-(Les Violences de Rameau) --France Nils Petter Molvær -Platonic Years-(Khmer) --Norway Nils Petter Molvær -Khmer-(Khmer) --Norway Terje Rypdal -The Dain Curse-(Waves)--Norway Egberto Gismonti-En Familia/Snafona/Dancaa Dos Pes/Eterna-(Sanfona) --Brazil Bill Connors-Theme To The Guardian-(Theme To The Guardian)--USA Tomasz Stanko -Kattorna-(Lontano)--Poland Anders Jormin -Choral-(In winds, in light) --Norway Featured Album: Ralph Towner --(Solstice) --USA Enjoy! :) - Cozy |
