Cryptic Vision: Live at ROSfest

Sam Conable posted the following on the ROSfest mailing list:

Thanks for the info Brian. I wanted to let you know that your wonderful ROS photos will be featured on the Cryptic Vision "Live at ROSFest" CD coming out next week. Your photographic talent has been a huge help to the band and is massively appreciated. If you like, contact me off list at sam@samconable.com and I will make sure you get a big care package to show our gratitude. If you would like to see the cover or hear some soundbites from the disc, check out the merch section of our website. Thanks again!

Sam said he's sending me a copy as soon as he gets them. I'll rip it and get it up on the moon too.

The photography is panning out. My photography was featured on Front and Back covers of Marillion's fanzine "The Web-UK" for the issue covering their Weekend in March'05. There were 24 other photos/credits thoughout the fanzine.

Maganta has featured my photos in a special "slide show" on their new Magenta Live DVD (I'm still awaiting my copy of that).

And now, my photos are the artwork for Cryptic Vision Live at ROSfest.

Now if I could just make some money doing this. :D

Money?

Making money - I think you should forget that for a while

I've been doing sports photography here in DK since 1997 and what have I to show for it - absoutley nothing but a drawn bankaccount buying new cameras and a few kind words saying how good you are.

There's no market for me - I'm too small and although Vax's pix are good there's a long way to the top league and relegation only happens when someone drops dead.

But I hope the best and may you succeed.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

VAX....I reckon that if you keep plugging away at the photography (which you will because you do it because you love it) then that elusive break is going to come and pots of dosh will be made. Trust me, I'm a docker! :)

Yes. The threw $100 bills at me.

I used it to purchased DVDs so I could give pix to CV and I then treated all to dinner at the Bigg Daddy's Ribs next door that eve. You were at the table as was OceanVIC, his wife Janet and his friend Matt. You and Matt talked about GG. The funniest thing was how you went on about how much Marillion sucked while Pete T. was standing right behind you. The look on Pete's face was ... well, like the mastercard commercials say: priceless.

Rick and Roll 11-02-2005 08:25 AM

hmmmmm

I do remember being fascinated over Pete's shoes, but I'm certain I wasn't going on like that. Matt and I (and Vic and Janet, yeh metalheads! when I could shout across the table) had a good conversation about music, it was fun.

Most likely, I was probably being baited into my non-preference of "recent" Marillion. I stand by that stance but would never embarass anyone...I seem to recall Martha's bemusement over your asking me about that.

I'm surprised you didn't ruin that beautiful laptop...I've never seen anyone try to eat and downlaod pictures...:dogpile:

I find it's easier to listen to the music instead of regurgitating the doggerel of the media.

I was trying to figure out what you meant in the context of what I said..then I realized my sentence was missing a verb. It should have read:

"I was being baited into TALKING about my non-preference for recent Marillion."

That means I was asked about it in front of Pete.

On a related note....

I own Brave + Seasons End + another (I'm at work, forget the name). And I've heard the rest. I like a few tunes like "Dry Land", and like Seasons End.

Since there's no media I know that talk about prog, that's not a concern. And almost all progsters that I know like it, so that's not a concern either.

So I guess I agree with your statement.
