show times

A question for everyone and anyone.

Is the Monday show time the best for everyone? I want to make sure I'm reaching all the time zones between the two shows. I'm not sure if later in the day Monday is better, or if where I'm at is OK. 11 AM EST seems to miss the West coast crowd. Would a two or three hour bump ahead help?

The Sunday night is great for me schedule-wise, but I feel that's a bit late for the East Coasters, and completely non-negotiable for Europe. However, there's no other available nights. Would a bump up to 8PM instead of 9 help?

Please let me know your preferences.

i like the sunday time slot as well as the monday slot time. if either of the time slots were to move forward i could still tune in...however, a backward shift might impact me more than i'd like, especially on mondays.

you are aware your show sets the tone for my mondays right? ;)

thanks for askin'

I would love it a bit earlier on Sunday night, that would let me catch another hour before bedtime...
I can't listen on Monday, because my school net blocks the moon...

but, summer is coming! :D

Rick, first and foremost it has to work for you :)

Monday is out no matter what the time, since work decided to block the stream.

Sundays are hit and miss because of dinner and assorted activities PST, but I enjoy the shows I do manage to catch.

Thanks, Rick.

mossy, you may list yourself as a "faffist" but your heart sure is in the right place all the time you're faffing!! :)

So... obviously, I agree with her on that point. Personally, I'm good with the show times, as I usually can catch some or all on Monday if I miss a Sunday...

NEW TIMES

Thanks for everyone who has responded....

The Sunday show will be aired 8-11 EST (up one hour from before). This will enable me to go to bed earlier, and placate the other US East Coasters who need to sleep too! (not to forget the fine Brazilian contingent). It will cut into my faff time (8PM a bit early to hunker down for me on the Moon, but it seems to be the best choice).

The Monday repeat will be aired 1-4 PM EST (ahead two hours). This should help the US West Coasters catch the beginning of the show, and should be OK for the West Europeans (will be an evening broadcast). I guess the more Eastern Europeans will have to stay up later, but they're a hard-core crew!

Hopefully this will work for my European friends.

The changes will be in effect this week...and hopefully soon the Main page will also be changed.

Thanks, and I look forward to many more fun shows!

Thank you, Roger!

I like the Transatlantic OK (I own both), but the way I describe it is...it doesn't suck. I can squeeze in some on the requests show sometime.

teermin8r 05-24-2005 09:20 PM

Thank you for moving the Sunday show up one hour :D

podakayne 05-25-2005 11:55 AM

Good call rick

the sunday will still work fine, provided i can get control of the mac...and the monday repeat is better still...now no regular monday meeting can interupt my hearing the entire show (when i arrive to work on mondays the shows already an hour plus into—in addition there's no competition for the computer on mondays at work...i can always schedule a show-jacking)

as roger said rick—you rock!

How about a show with the original bands whose members make up TA and then TA?

Rick and Roll 05-26-2005 12:01 PM

A big thanks again to all who responded, and also a big thanks to Jim and Dot for making the changes on the main page. One more thing:

There is some tweaking needed to get the calendar and the shows section to report the same information. For instance, Cozy's times are correct on the calendar but not in "shows" (only has the show as an hour long). Also, my Sunday PM time in the calendar still shows 9PM, but all other info is perfect. The Gagliarchives repeat is under the calendar but not shoes, and the Saturday Gnosis 2nd repeat is not listed under shows.

But again, I'm, pleased to see the changes made and the addition of Interzone and its logo.

About vax's Transtlantic and offshoot suggestion:

The main off shoot of that band is either Spock's Beard and TFK. Both of those bands warrant their own show at some point. Also, Marillion would, but I don't want to get into them because I'm not hot about the later stuff. I'll be playing more Marillion soon enough anyway.

Now Portnoy is interesting. He's played on a lot of stuff that I wouldn't normally spotlight, ex OSI, LTE, Dream Theater, I'm leaving some others out I'm sure.

A nice excuse for a show, but as Adrian Belew says "don't hold your breath, cause it will make you blue".
