I nearly forgot about it it's been so long.

The movie is indeed Come on Children. The song is Run Willie Run. You can listen to it here.

Thanks Bob.............

As you got us with that one I think you should come up with another question.

Back to you my friend.

Bob Lentil 05-02-2003 04:55 PM

What do the following have in common?

Peter Gabriel
Steve Hacket
Pink Floyd
Andy Summers
Yes

Avian 05-02-2003 09:43 PM

My first thought was Hypgnosis, but a few may be missing there...

My second thought is The Filmore East

??

Avian 05-02-2003 09:45 PM

and that's when I realized the answer was Tony Levin.

am I right?

Rick and Roll 05-02-2003 09:54 PM

Tony Levin's played with everyone!

That was to be my choice, too, but I couldn't pull the trigger. You may indeed be right!

Avian 05-03-2003 12:18 AM

Well, Tony Levin is definately one answer, for sure... are there others?

Bob Lentil 05-03-2003 11:04 AM

Tony Levin was what I was going for. I would be surprised if there weren't any others.

KeithieW 05-09-2003 02:31 AM

Over to you Avian

Another question please.

Doing these things increases my knowledge of Prog a lot what with the research to get an answer.

Here's one, not too tough. What band played a pair of shows in London without its lead singer/guitarist (who was in jail at the time), and brought on Peter Hammill and Robert Fripp to handle the duties? (Other guest musicians at the gigs included Nik Turner of Hawkwind, Ian Dury, Hazel O'Connor, Toyah Wilcox, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Steve Hillage.)

black max 05-10-2003 02:18 PM

Additional hint/tidbits: On the first night, Billy Idol tried to join the ensemble during the encore and was promptly knocked ass over teacup by the bass player, who had a black belt and wasn't afraid to use it. The show ended with two strippers, Policeman and Woman, bumping and grinding while the dozen or so musicians wound up the show.

All in all, must have been a hell of a show. :D

KeithieW 05-11-2003 02:12 PM

It WAS a great Gig.....allegedly!!!

It was THE STRANGLERS..............Hugh Cornwall was in Jail and so the most amazing line up of guests took to the stage.

It was in 1980....I think.

black max 05-13-2003 11:26 AM

Got it. I didn't know about it until recently, when the CD was finally released and tracks started showing up on WinMX.

OK, here's a truly simple one.

On the Anderson/Wakeman/Bruford/Howe tour, Tony Levin started the tour playing bass. (I saw the first show in Memphis, fabulous.) Levin left partway through the tour. Who completed it?
