last chance

I know nothing about the Strawbs so 3 is out for me.

Is 7 that Duke was released in the 80's? Nah not that easy.

UK is not in mainland Europe but not a prog clue.

(Baiting Keith for clues)

Wojtek 04-14-2004 11:42 AM

I am thinking about 10. Perhaps Keithie wants a band which has members from 3 countries. How about Tangerine Dream. Band have German members, had English member (Steve Jollife). but I can't find anybody from France or the Netherlands

moses 04-14-2004 11:43 AM

stabbing blindly

10) UK, France, Germany, Netherlands.

From Keithie's clue, I might guess (and this is surely a guess with no research) - Progressive Shores has not done a show on UK prog?

Ok............clues. In no particular order.

1) You may need to "Drum up support" if you want to come on a tour with me.
2) A Blackmore band might be loosely connected here.
3) Beach........moses you are SO close. Do a bit of research.

1) XANG, Mystery, Frank Zappa, Brand X. - Zappa, All the others recorded albums with "Destiny" in the title. - Woj
2) UK, Curved Air, Jethro Tull, Yes. - Yes, all the others had Jobson as a full time member of the band (although Jobson does appear in the video for "Owner of a lonely Heart")- Woj
3) Steve Hillage, Rod Argent, Moody Blues, Strawbs.
4) East of Eden, Genesis, PFM, Curved Air.-Genesis, only one without a violinist - Jim
5) Genesis, Kaipa, Jethro Tull, Fish. - Genesis, No musical update 4/10/04 (See home page)-Rick
6) JamForte, VAXman, KeithieW, Teermin8r.- KeithieW, only Moonie to use a PC - VAX
7) A trick of the tail, Wind and wuthering, And then there were three, duke.
8) Caravan, The Tangent, Camel, Hatfield and the North. - The Tangent, Richard Sinclair - Woj.
9) King Crimson, Yes, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis. - Yes, Jon Anderson sings as a "Guest" on the others - Woj.
10) UK, France, Germany, Netherlands.

You smart devils may find other answers but I'm looking for the ones that are in my pea brained head. OK?

Woj - 4
VAX - 1
Jim - 1
Rick - 1
Others - 0

Numbers 3, 7 & 10 to go.

Rick and Roll 04-14-2004 11:46 AM

Prog Shores

None on Netherlands I think.

Rick and Roll 04-14-2004 11:48 AM

Bill Bruford

was on tour with Genesis on Seconds Out - after the Trick album perhaps?

Rick and Roll 04-14-2004 11:49 AM

I thought so on Prog Shores

but too lazy to check

Rick and Roll 04-14-2004 11:51 AM

I know

the Blackmore. I'm investigating........................

Wojtek 04-14-2004 11:56 AM

Guys, John Ford of Strawbs was playing in Blackmore's Night. Let's follow this trail

moses 04-14-2004 11:56 AM

backwards

Upon furthur (ok initial) research, it appears that France is the only one that has been featured on Prog Shores.

Rick and Roll 04-14-2004 11:59 AM

no woj

it's rainbow. That I know - Hillage is the only one I can find with Rainbow in it. So two of the other three have Rainbow in a title.

moses you are probably right!

Wojtek 04-14-2004 12:02 PM

...and Russ Ballard left Rod Argent's band and became an extremely successful songwriter ('Since You've Been Gone' - Rainbow). Hmmmm....

Yowlee!!! And Rick......Rainbow is right but you're on the wrong track. Maybe a Pink floyd instrumental on Dark side would help.

Woj you are locked up for the title, and since I am busy, i will throw a clue for you.

Well Ricardo.........close........so close I'll give it to you. I was thinking "Trick of the tail because it was the only tour that didn't feature Chester Thompson as guest drummer (or the only one that did feature Bill Bruford)

And colours is the link to the last one. But you have it the wrong way round.
