Djam Karet

means "liquid time" according to the band. Maybe if there was a picture of Yesspaz's leg it might be horrific;)

Anything trippy could be the Flower Kings!

A film remake? Damn, I thought it was Starsky and Hutch..

correct, but the phrase was coined by Edgar Rice Burroughs in what I think is a sci-fi novel that contains a not too rosy future. I haven't read it though...

Rick and Roll 03-31-2004 09:39 PM

you should get a point

for that deduction!

i tried the remaining ones but I'm just getting old!

Bob Lentil 03-31-2004 09:56 PM

9 is Eloy from HG Wells' The Time Machine.

progdirjim 04-01-2004 12:45 AM

Rocket Scientists typically design the vehicles but
don't usually travel on them.

But Bob Lentil is correct.

FYI, HG Wells spelled it Eloi.

KeithieW 04-01-2004 05:12 AM

Where are we with this one VAX?

Can you post an update of what's left and who's got what?

Would make it a bit easier.

Rick and Roll 04-01-2004 07:12 AM

maybe you will get somewhere

I asked that before Keith, no reply yet...................

moses 04-01-2004 07:29 AM

He's been editing the question back on page 1 of the thread with the answers and who got them... copy and paste...

1. trippy song lyric
2. sci-fi show episode: Spock's Beard: JamForte
3. middle-earth history: Marillion: KeithieW

4. words not drawn from a hat
5. blues men: Pink Floyd: Yesspaz
6. far from these things (or perhaps a cat): Procol Harum: ProgDirJim
7. J.R.R. Tolkien novel progenitor: Iluvatar: RickandRoll
8. seed drill inventor: Jethro Tull: JamForte
9. horrific vision of a mutated future race: Eloy: Bob Lentil
10. a space man: Klaatu: moses

So I guess we have numbers 1 and 4 left.

teermin8r 04-01-2004 08:48 AM

No, actually, I think someone tried that already.

I think just got it - Klaatu - the alien from The Day the Earth Stood Still.

nope... didn't this already get mentioned?

moses 04-08-2004 12:38 PM

Wrong

#4... I know I've heard this story (pulling words from a hat and using the ones that were left), just can't remember which band it is. So I'll guess King Crimson just to remind folks that this is still here.

A good guess, but don't "bank" on it being right.

Rick and Roll 04-08-2004 01:29 PM
