New Avatar, with a hearty nod to Kirk.

glad to be of service!

that was confusing....
for a second. I just checked the forums after an absence.
I was reding RL's post in the other forum and the Yes avatar was there, then I went to this one. Since the avatars change for every post ever done, I'm looking at Jim's post about "isn't that Ponty'? and saying, "no that's Yes". I see now. At the time it was Mystical Adventures. Great record. Phew....now that THAT's settled:p  Hearty nod? Is that like hearty soup? And does that mean we can pick his brain? |

comic books...
you comic book aficionados might enjoy this:
John Byrne I used to do some 3d, John is quite a character. :D |
Whoa
started with avatars and now we're talking comic books. I'm game. Anyone else pissed at the rumors around the third X-Men movie? Fox idiots...
|
Thanx for the Byrne Link........
Kirk is a comic king, while I Only have 40 long boxes, He's the guytype I traded with for years. I have Everycopy of everyMarvel publication from '64 to '85, I worked for Eastern Color Printing( the physical Printer of all those beauties) in the '70's. here in central Ct. Then I shut the Boxes. Loved the Art,-Wrightson, Starlin, Russell, collected by the Love of creativity.
the Movies have been Hit & Miss... Here's hopin' |
new one.
Ok, well, since my leg is already in the gallery, I put up a banal picture of Oysterhead for July.

X-Men Runours?
What are these rumours about the third X-Men movie? And what's the problem involving Fox?
Rob |
the only thing i've heard, is that brian singer isn't
doing it, director mathew vaughn quit, now brett (rush hour) ratner's directing. one cool (weird?) note- kelsey grammer's been cast as hank mccoy/the beast. if you know the character's personality, he's perfect. yesspaz, what have you heard? ----------------------------- fantastic four was decent, a good job bringing tough characters to life. the origin ate up a good chunk of the movie. chiklis's "thing" stole the picture IMO, spot on. k |
looks like a done deal

If you like X-Men, weep for this franchise. I've got to run now, but I'll fill in the details later.
 |

Upcoming Movies Ain't It Cool News foul language on this site. Oh, and Singer's Superman Returns is going well. Lex Luthor will be played by Kevin Spacey, and Zod by Jude Law. Great casting both times. Superman Returns page at Upcoming Movies Superman V Blue Tights A Picture of Superman |
gotta go with you there Yspaz
watch the next installment fall flat...shame. i use to be a real voracious comic reader, collector into my early teens...still have a box of vintage DC (mostly) comics. love the genre, was my first artistic love, had my own league of super women (the JLA didn't have enought—and hated Wonder woman, but i had her as a member anyway)
ahhh the memories...wonder where those comic books are too! poda  p.s. thanks for the info links Yesspaz:) |
X-amples
Thanx for the dismal update, FF mytholgy twisted in the new movie as usual. the Puppet Master must have been Vin Ryames.
Still, I thought Ben was great , the torch Hot, the ending.... Popcorn was great. My Favorite Wrightson creation went big screen, and...plop. Sometimes a supergem appears(spidy1) but usually we get a Catwoman, or a Swampthing |
uh, as a non X-man fan I don't have a huge problem with Halle Berry screen time...:p
(but I feel your pain. That would be like Vivendi buying Aural Moon and featuring Britney Spears or something, to put it in terms I can understand...) |

Cross-men
Thanks to YessPaz for xplaining the xmen problems. Hmmm...now I wait with trepidation instead of enthusiasm.

Back to avatars, I'm getting stoked about the new King's X album, and so I've put a Tape Head era photo up.

Re: Why that avatar?
I chose my avatar for two reasons; I live in the country on 5 acres and it reminds me of my home base and Michael Hedges was one of the most amazing guitarists ever and died an unfortunate early death, so it's a bit of a homage to him.
Got a problem with that? :bang!: |
Re: Why that avatar?
For me, this avatar is very memorable.
5 years ago we family went to Japanese whisky distillery. We (especially I) could get fresh air, woody flavour and tasty whisky...excellent atmosphere! This memory's always takin' me by storm. Of course, the man on the avatar is me. :winkies: Thank you. |
Re: Why that avatar?
Meerkats are cool! I took this at the "fellow earthlings wildlife center" in Morongo Valley, CA where you can adopt one of the little buggers, visit with them, and feed them, they're a trip! Besides, you don't want to see my ugly mug.

Re: Why that avatar?
Sometimes I feel like that.

Re: Why that avatar?
Well...my son and I...what else can I say? I love him very much.

Re: Why that avatar?
