I'll just guess Karnataka for "K" for the heck of it.

O) This band is responsible for a law relating voltage, current, and resistance. . . or maybe not.

Jim has a guess in on "D".
I have a guess in on "K" (probably wrong).
"N" is outstanding.
I have correctly guessed "O" and will add one later.

It's football time.

dinosaur 01-23-2005 01:22 PM

PDJ's guess on D...
Djam Karet
Correct! for their song "Severed Moon" from Suspension & Displacement

dinosaur 01-23-2005 01:37 PM

Latest update...
N and K are open, Rickter will devise a clue for P, PDJ will work on Q?
I'm completely stumped on K. I know what N is, but then I made it up.

A.) "Stadium" performers [ARENA]
B.) Can'tRock get this showRock out of my HeadRock ('spaz, you're not eligible for this one) [BRAINROCK]

progdirjim 01-23-2005 03:03 PM

to be official, Rick's guess for "K" is wrong. Since that's an oblique clue for a band not on the moon, I'll go easier for Q - "God save 'em"

KeithieW 01-23-2005 06:14 PM

Q =Queen.

Ta Daaaaaaa! Keithie gets a shot at a right answer. :D

Rick and Roll 01-23-2005 06:51 PM

"R"

If Will Smith made a movie about a U.S. President, what song might that be?

dinosaur 01-23-2005 08:15 PM

Since I started this, I'm trying to keep us on track.
We missed a P. It won't do to miss our scheduled P.

Keithie, if you're Queen guess is correct, as I feel it must be, give us a P (but don't go whisperin' in my ear!).

fremder99 01-23-2005 09:25 PM

Gotta go back to P!

Here's an easy P.....

P.) Antediluvian twitterings?

fremder99 01-23-2005 09:46 PM

Whoops...

Sorry Keithie... I didn't see dino's call for you to take (a) P.... I'll step aside...

KeithieW 01-24-2005 02:08 AM

Here's ans "S" Then..............

S - "A Band and album that both sound the same but one is really cosmic!!!!"

Rick and Roll 01-24-2005 06:15 AM

Starcastle

if so I don't know why. If someone fills in the blank, please do it and take the next question. I have my hands full today. And my "R" could sit for awhile:D

If I'm wrong, please disregard this post.

RogorMortis 01-24-2005 12:36 PM

Well a sliced up Pink Floyd must be "Final Cut"

And a drummer of all-colours must be the drummer of Rainbow = Cozy Powell.

O r have I barked up the wrong tree?

fremder99 01-24-2005 01:07 PM

Sheesh... I am slow... reealllly slow... My "P" doesn't start with "P".... Just like my "F" didn't start with "F".... I get it now....honest... "ABCs".....

Pirdsongs of the Mesosoic?

progdirjim 01-24-2005 02:52 PM

Queen is, of course, correct.

on the R - Rutherford B Hayes, the fresh prince of colonial Williamsburg?:D

or I, Robot - starring George W Bush as the evil robot:eek:

I Robot is the correct movie reference believe it or not......but it's not APP.....and it's not either Bush or the famous Rutherford B. Hayes. Since the answer is an "R", and it's the exact song title, I think it should be solved soon.....

KeithieW 01-25-2005 01:41 AM

Rick got "S" very quickly.........HOWEVER!!!!!

S - "A Band and album that both sound the same but one is really cosmic!!!!"

Starcastle is correct but there's the small matter of the album to get right................sorry Rickster. Close but no cigar yet.

:D

Ohm or King's X, that's funny!

"R" - Jim got the right movie (Robot is the word). What I did not realize it that the song is NOT on the Moon. But the band is.

"S" - confused a bit....

KeithieW 01-26-2005 02:34 AM

Confused? You will be!

Rick,

You got the name of the Band correct but the answer I was looking for has the name of an album in it as well. Take it away.

moses 01-26-2005 02:38 PM

2 guesses

Quote:

K.) I haven't had the time to add these four
N.) Nicotinic Acid Rock
K.) Kraftwerk - Don't know why, but aren't there 4 of them?
N.) NoMeansNo - Again, I don't know why but I can't think of a better way to describe them.

fremder99 01-26-2005 03:20 PM

As long as we're guessing

and nothing but a guess...

N.) Niacin??? NIcontinic ACId rock... where's the last "n"?

progdirjim 01-27-2005 12:10 AM

Wrong, but on the right track with "4 of them" It is a band that is not on the Moon, but some might consider Moon worthy.

I mentioned the 4 because that's somewhat explicitly called out in the name of the band. "Time" is another clue...

Wojtek 01-27-2005 06:22 AM

K should be Karmakanic. 4 musicians and Wheel of Time album.

Wojtek 01-27-2005 06:30 AM

Oops, that was Wheel of Life, not Wheel of Time.
Sorry, missed shot. :D

Correct!
Niacin is a nutrient found in many foods. It is also known as nicotinic acid. I know, pretty obscure clue, but it was late at night and my dictionary happened to fall open to the page with niacin on it.

Rick and Roll 01-27-2005 09:50 AM

so if K is right....

R and S still open?

and Fremder and Woj owe us one each?

Excellent guess, but wrong...

fremder99 01-27-2005 10:05 AM

T for two?

T.) I really get off on this band!

fremder99 01-27-2005 10:08 AM

K.) Kaipa? (Notes from the Past)

Rick and Roll 01-27-2005 10:11 AM

scratch that

K, R, S still open.

fremder owes us a "T".

(and not Tiny Tim, please)

Wojtek 01-27-2005 11:10 AM

S = Into The Electric Castle? (or also must start with "s"?)

Or maybe also Lucassen's Star One album?

Then it's probably not Paranoid Android by Radiohead. I was under the impression that that tune is on the Moon.
