not what i had in mind. Iluvatar is related to LOTR, but not an essential plot element. Good guess though!

Dinosaur, what have you doooooone?

A pun on a tull lyric there folks....................Rick?

I think we need to keep an update on what's gone and what hasn't here peeps.

Could get VERY messy otherwise. :D

Rick and Roll 01-21-2005 02:32 PM

Taking the horns by the bull

"C" and "E" may be jim's (unconfirmed). If confirmed, he owes us two more.

"I" was a jim question and is still outstanding.

"J" is next.

All others answered.

Not following on the Tull reference.

Bob Lentil 01-21-2005 02:52 PM

Letter I is Isildur's Bane.

Right!

and a wild guess for (C) - Cozy Powell, who was one of the drummers for Rainbow...
I had Billy Cobham in mind for his "Spectrum" lp, but your answer fits even better!

A.) "Stadium" performers [ARENA]
B.) Can'tRock get this showRock out of my HeadRock ('spaz, you're not eligible for this one) [BRAINROCK]
C.) Drummer of "All-colors" [Billy Cobham, or Cozy Powell]
D.) Sliced-up Moon song
E.) Ekstraordinary classical Dutch boys [Ekseption]
F.) If you plow through their music, you might find an inventor [Jethro Tull]
G.) Riding in a large travelling party, you may find this lady not once, but twice! [Golf Girl/Group Girl by Caravan]
H.)I wouldn't want to wear one of these, even when riding my HOG. (Not on the Moon but played on special show(s).) [Helmet of Gnats]
I.)Key plot element in Lord Of The Rings...

Rick and Roll 01-21-2005 10:16 PM

Cobham....

I was almost certain it was him, but it didn't know why so I didn't guess. It's like using a word in Scrabble that you can't define ( a dig at my brother in law  )

So "D" is still out and "I" is done?

progdirjim 01-21-2005 11:54 PM

I is indeed done - Isildur's Bane is the answer. I owe a J and a K, and D is still open.

J (I hope "your favorite Program Director" would be too easy:D )
Fighting over the green

K

I haven't had the time to add these four

Both clues reference bands; one is on the moon and one is not...

KeithieW 01-22-2005 02:58 AM

Forgive my Dumbness but.........

I don't see how "F" can be Jethro Tull!!!!!!!!!!

Please Explain.....................just to stop me thinking about it and getting this headache. :D

not dumbness...forgetfulness maybe.

Fremder (and also me for that matter) did not realize the first letter was the main clue. Therefore he was just adding in a clue under F). It could have been any letter. I just didn't think it was worth it to go back. But since Jim has control, he can decide whether to do an F).

Now to summarize, I can't remember how to add text within a quote like you "experts"

So please refer to Jim's post to see where we are.

Bob Lentil 01-22-2005 10:47 AM

Here's an 'L.'

A.) "Stadium" performers [ARENA]
B.) Can'tRock get this showRock out of my HeadRock ('spaz, you're not eligible for this one) [BRAINROCK]
C.) Drummer of "All-colors" [Billy Cobham]

K.) I haven't had the time to add these four
L.) Where people assembled on May 24th

dinosaur 01-22-2005 12:32 PM

Rick and Roll 01-22-2005 01:03 PM

Correct. Whenever I come up with question, you usually just need to flip a coin and see if it lands on Rush or King's X.

Rick and Roll 01-22-2005 03:42 PM

M

Dinosaur I'll take this one....looks like you may have N if your J is correct (and it appears to be)...

The answer for this one is five words, all starting with "M". Kind of easy, but what the hell....

If this artist who wrote songs about the planets covered a Genesis tune that mentions one of its satellites, what would we call it?

progdirjim 01-22-2005 06:21 PM

Jade Warrior is correct...

Bob Lentil 01-22-2005 06:21 PM

Letter 'M' - Manfred Mann - Mad Man Moon

That's funny!

I played this board game called Scattegories once...and I thought I had three points for Mad Man Moon, but no one knew it so they threw it out. Emphasized the dichotomy between us proggies and the common folk.

Anyhow, on Solar Fire there's a few tunes about Saturn, Mercury, and Earth. So D and K are still out?

And next is N - Dinosaur and O - Bob?

(O Bob you beast you  )

I actually based my answer on the following Manfred Mann tunes:
Joybringer (From Jupiter)
Neptune (Icebringer)

Uh oh. . . I may have to dig deep and branch out into Kansas or something.
