Regardless of the song, I usually enjoy blatant endings. Not just tunes that "end on a period", but more specifically songs that have a coda of some kind - or even a quick 1 or 2 measure ending-specific "section".

Ending on the song's signature riff, or progression, can be cool. But also when said riff is slightly modified and reprised, it's usually cool (e.g. Spirit Of Radio).

Fadeouts don't do it for me, as a rule.

I've always enjoyed the full volume slash of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)". For that song, it's the perfect ending.

:)

Oh my yes. Very much like Maynard Ferguson's "Spirit of St. Fredrick". Two measures, one riff. Very nice way of ending a very nice jazz tune.

Greatest ending to a song ever was 'Metalhead' by Blotto. If you ever remember the video from the original MTV (back when they actually played music videos, ah ........ Martha Quinn) you'll understand. :D

Ever hear the end of "Hole In The Sky" by Black Sabbath? Now that's a weird one...

My favorite endings are the ones when bands cut a long song up into smaller tracks so that when they get played on AuralMoon, or in my five-disc-changer on random, they stop in the middle of the song. Yep, those are my favorite endings. :D :p
