Focus - The Bosporus
Planes go flight by flight (Planes go flight by flight) Ready for a fight (Ready for a fight) Ships pass in the night (Ships pass) Through the Bosporus Marching columns sound (Marching columns) Reasons yet unfound For me for you For all of us |
whoa!
VAX with a half for Toronto!
Keith with another half! Yes the mighty Bosporus. Why is that not on AM???? Keith 4 VAX 2.5 |
How are you scoring this Rick?
If it's 2 per quezzie and 1 for half right I make that:
K= 6 V= 3 Or is my brain still crapped out? |
You dare challenge the quizzer?
I should mark you down, mortal! Oh sorry, I'm back now - to answer your inquiry:
I gave each of you 2 pts for the initial correct guesses. VAX was #3, and yours was #7. Then you get one pt for any other pair of correct guesses (if they were guessed incorrectly at least once). You had #1 and #2. VAX gets a half for Toronto (#8). I did this to ensure no one "pirates" the whole answer (oops is that a clue?????????). So, Keith = 2 + 1 +1 = 4 and VAX - 2 + .5 = 2.5 Left are #'s 4,5,6,8,9,10, and half of #8. The mathematics may not seem to add up, but it's a MRNR scoring system (modified RicknRoll). |
Forgive a mere Mortal..........
I'll stab in then with..............
9) Somalia - Port Elizabeth and: 8) Cuba (for the ELP) |
And the poet sheaths his sword...
Holy urban geography! Nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Jim's going to be unhappy when he finds out what he missed. I didn't think this would go so fast!!! Keith 6.5 VAX 2.5 Left are#'s 4,5,6,10. |

I knew that, but...
I tried to be cute and make it easier, but I should have realized that Central America is Mexico-Panama.
Technically, all of Central America is in North America. I should have stuck with North America. Anyhow, I'll give you a half too - Keith 6.5 VAX 3 |
What a................
FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's refreshing to see the British do that too - at the bowling alley they draw tickets and yell that.
You do have a big lead my man. Not insurmountable, but close............................................. ............ |

C.A. is not a continent such as N.A. and S.A. but a collective to refer to the 7 countries betwwen Mexico and Columbia. When you said C.A. I was looking at the C.A. map ad trying to conjure up an ELP reference. Had you said Caribbean would likely have sprung to mind. C'est La Vie |

Yes
that's why I gave you a half.
As stated, I'm aware that CA's not a continent. My only regret is that I did not include any SA questions. I didn't take away Keith's half cause of his "Pirates" conclusion. So, the hard ones remain........ |

1.5 point swing......
I was looking for another location for the Supertramp, Zappa is correct. If the two you mentioned are close to 1,000 miles, I'll give you the two points. If not, you get 1/2.
On another question I was actually looking for Broadway instead of NYC, but of course they are in the same city. |

half point maybe
For number 6, the King Crimson one could be New York City or (if you're sneaky) Providence.
Can't think of a Yes one that's 500 miles away. Caesar's Palace is pretty far away, and Siberia isn't even the right continent. |

Texas was the answer I was looking for.
I have: Keith 6.5 VAX 5 Moses .5 (moving the decimal) Left to go are #5, #10, and 1/2 of #6 Will check in a few hours, so there will be suspense! Keith is sleeping, but not well knowing that his lead is evaporating! OOOHHHHHHHHH |

Supertramp from the UK, Breakfast In America seemed the most logical choice for N.A. Marillion (gain mentioning many places) and FZ were fairly easy for me. |

You'd think I would know UK and Oldfield
London (Waterloo and Park Lane) from UK's Rendezvous - Scotland (Tons of Oldfield references to Scotland)
Rendezvous 6:02 (Jobson/Wetton) It's 5 o'clock driving sown Park Lane and London leaves for the weekend again through the dark city streets in the clinging rain I take my car towards the Thames and Waterloo..... 6:02 Waterloo Was that a face I saw? No, just a trick of light It's getting clearer now but moving out of sight It's cold and late and I can't miss that train I turn around walk through the arch of Waterloo I saw the same hooded face He beckoned me from the gate "Did you not know, my friend? Ten years ago was the end After the war Waterloo was no more, But your ticket states There is one train It's leaving now And there is a place Remember my face and Waterloo....." |
Yes! (Toledo)
One question to go (#10), it's VAX up a full point on Keith (but not a full pint).
|
Not quite
the Oldfield is close, and the UK is not what I was looking for. The distance is 750 miles between them, so Scotland and Waterloo do not fit.
I believe both songs are not on the Moon (when I checked before). Keith, if you get this one, it's a tie! If VAX gets 1/2 he wins! |

VAX 7.5
Keith 6.5 Moses .5 The other 1/2 was Ireland (from "Orabidoo" on Five Miles Out). Nice job everyone! A question from VAXman awaits! |
