The floor

Ah yes, but there are others that need the floor too!

Actually, I'm not available most of the day, so someone needs to pull out the rug!

I just got back from a Bach piano recital but don't remember a note that was played because I had a Reference book open on my lap the whole time trying to figure this one out.......... I get the feeling that I'm going to kick myself when the answer is revealed but as of this time I'm flummoxed!!!!

Still working at it!!!!

Rick and Roll 09-15-2003 10:25 AM

too dedicated!

Powerslave 09-16-2003 08:36 AM

Maybe

Are they all instrumental albums?

I know Djam Karet, Planet X, & Shylock are all instrumental, and I 'm pretty sure about Birdsongs and Giltrap. Is this the right track?

progdirjim 09-16-2003 11:49 AM

They are not all instrumental albums. Tantalus, Acqua Fragile, and Electrum, at least, have vocals.

First hint: You need to look deeper than the artist, the album name, the label, etc. Look at the contents of each album.

Avian 09-16-2003 03:15 PM

They all have songs with at least one number in them "Seven Masks", "Ground Zero", "One Hundred Cycles" (didn't check this the whole way through).

The order would be what the number is?

Avian

Rick and Roll 09-16-2003 03:27 PM

There is precedent

Since we've had a numerical question before, that would seem like a good guess.

progdirjim 09-16-2003 05:32 PM

Avian's got it!

The order is:
Planet X - Moonbabies - Ground ZERO
Birdsongs Of The Mesozoic - Petrophonics - ONE Hundred Cycles
Gordon Giltrap - Fear - Roots Part TWO
Acqua Fragile - THREE Hands Man
Mirthrandir - For You The Old Women - For FOUR
Weather Report - Tale Spinnin' - FIVE Short Stories
Shylock - Gialorgues - Le SIXieme
Sonus Umbra - Snapshots From Limbo - SEVEN Masks
Electrum - Standard Deviation - Seven Falls, EIGHT Rises
Tantalus - Jubal - Route Forty NINE
Djam Karet - Burning The Hard City - TEN Days To The Sand

There could have been one or two other orders possible.

Over to you, boss!

Rick and Roll 09-16-2003 09:13 PM

that's a neat one

not only #'s, but 1-10!

0-10, actually.

while we're waiting for Avian to pose a question, here's a quickie:

What is the common element in these three albums:

Rush - A Farewell To Kings
Supertramp - Breakfast In America
Happy The Man - Death's Crown

Besides that they're all on AM. If they were released in the same year or on the same label, that's a coincidence and therefore WRONG.

Rick and Roll 09-19-2003 12:23 PM

Here's one for you

They all have a vibra-slap in a song on the album.

KeithieW 09-19-2003 12:45 PM

They all have the same number of tracks on them......

progdirjim 09-20-2003 07:31 PM

Wrong (vibra-slap) and wrong (number of tracks).

Want a hint yet?

Rick and Roll 09-20-2003 08:55 PM

Sure

why not?

KeithieW 09-21-2003 03:16 AM

Want a hint?????

Does a bear s**t in the woods???

progdirjim 09-21-2003 10:31 AM

the answer is geographical in nature.

It may be geographical in nature but I'm lost.

BIA was recorded in LA and AFTK was recorded in Wales so it's not that.......

D'oh!!!

progdirjim 09-22-2003 11:28 AM

In no particular order, the three uniting items (one from each album) are:
album cover
song name
album title (though this one may be a bit obscure to some)

another useless clue - the answer is my hometown - and no, it's not San Diego - I moved here at age 22.

Rick and Roll 09-22-2003 11:54 AM

New Hollywood Torontocrownsville?

Damn, that's not it.
