If I had time..
I'd say we should try to get the rest for a few days, which would enable Keith to summon the unfried brain cells to pull together another brain teaser.

Jim, Avian I'M WITH YOU ALL THE WAY.......NO DT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I'm all for trying to get the others. |
You're taking too long, so here are the official answers...

3rd act.... - Terco Acto - Ciudad Futura, Canarios Song Of Spring - Canto De Primavera, Banco Moden Times - Tempi Moderni, Finisterre Butterfly - Papillon, Latte E Miele Dancing On Lava - Dancing On A'a, Birdsongs Of The Mesozoic Welcome to the Country - Bienvenue A Pays, JP Boffo New Art - Ars Nova White Elephant - L'Elefante Bianco, Area Baku Dream - Ukab Maerd, Djam Karet Homesickness - Heimweh nach Ubersee, Kraan Scorpion - Escorpiao, Tantra |
don't let the lack of response fool you
that was a good question!
I just got on the wrong track and ended up down the wrong road then left it and forgot about it and f'd up and...take it away. |
here's a (I think) easy one while Keith conjures up a winner:
What do these three albums have in common: Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother Latte E Miele - Papillon Procol Harum - A Salty Dog hint - it has nothing to do with musical instruments, year/studio recorded, or the musicians involved. A very common thing is mentioned or hinted at someplace in each of these three albums. For instance, it might be in the album title, the band's name, a song title, or the cover art. |
How about milk?
|
Got milk?
Could Bob be a winner?
|
Milk it is - The cow from AHM, Latte is Italian for milk, and Procol has the song "Milk of Human Kindness" on it... take it away...
|
plus
Plus one section of Atom Heart Mother is called Breast Milky.
|
What do the following albums have in common:
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy Rush - Hemispheres Yes - Going for the One |
right up my alley!
Naked people!!!!!!
|
Correct!
|
hey Keith

Thinking of you. |
believe it or not
I'm still working on one, it's taking me just a bit longer.......
|
give up
Sorry my brothers and sisters, I just can't get together a question right now. I've been a bit distracted of late, and will cede control to whoever wants it.
When the moment hits, I'll dazzle/bore you with an arcane question. (I did try something with the colors of the spectrum, but kept getting stuck) |
OK, as I'm awake I'll go first....
What links the following:
Caravan Porcupine Tree Roxy Music Tantalus Tempest Yes Answer is one word of four letters. Then explain why!!!!!!!:D |
ROCK

SONG
they all have song titles that contain the word song: Caravan - Songs and Signs PT - Hatesong Roxy - A Song For Europe etc. |
Almost but not what I was thiking of.
I was thinking NINE.
Search o Nine in the playlist and the songs you get will be by those bands. Over to you Jim. |
OK, what theme links these bands:
Finisterre Steve Howe Renaissance KBB Roxy Music The Nice Yes |
Topography? Continents?
Finisterre has "Asia" and "KBB" has Antartica. Yes has "America".
Am I on to something? And if so, I will try my hardest to come with a good question! A real brain buster! |
got it
At the risk of getting fired:
Howe - Australia Roxy - Europe Renaissance-Africa see the last post for the rest - Good enough???? |
you got it Rick! I knew that wasn't a hard question, but I thought it might take longer than a minute and a half!
Nice also had America - I had 2 Americas for North and South to complete the 7 continents. Take it away Rick... |
Go to it Ricky mate.
Answers, Questions, Questions, Answers.
Ba doom doom, doo doo doo doo doo - Ba doom doom, doo doo doo doo doo. |
Inspired....
by your Focus bass riff, Keith, let's pay homage to some bassists found on the Moon...
I'll give you 13 really bad puns, and all I require is the name of the talented bass dude. For example, Paul McCartney could be a "left-handed bug". The clues: 1) Gone "underground" to find his fusion. 2) A working man in a real hurry. 3) Former Fisherman crosses the ocean with a three of his closest friends. 4) Apparently still a bad-ass. 5) Continues unshaven even without "Nealing". 6) A Fish out of water? 7) Showing plenty of "remorse". 8) Oh no, go call Gongzilla. 9) A Swedish king ? 10) Splendidly making a rendezvous. 11) Showing plenty of tension even after an illustrious career. 12) You're a good man live, Charlie Brown! 13) Acted very strangely, once. Have fun! |
I think I've gotten 10 of 13 - I'll try more tomorrow...
|
A sick kind of pleasure I get
In keeping Jim up to guess these things!
|
Here's most of them (I think)
1. Percy Jones (Jeff Berlin as a hedge) 2. Geddy Lee 3. Peter Trawavas 4. ? Billy Sheehan? 5. Dave Meros 6. Chris Squire 7. Jerry Peek or Andy West 8. Hansford Rowe 9. Jonas Reingold 10. John Wetton 11. Tony Levin 12. ? 13. Mike Rutherford I was thinking you might throw a Tull bassist in there, but then which one? I couldn't find him if he's there... |
So far
1,2,3,5,6,8,9,11, and 13 are correct - nice job!
I will give you 4 (Jeff Berlin), because you mentioned him as a hedge for 1. In the liner notes on "One of A Kind", Jeff Berlin "apparently still uses Leo Quan (sp?) bad-ass strings". Looking for Dave LaRue for 7, but the other two will work - not specific enough in my question. Remorse meant he's been with Steve Morse solo and in the Dregs. 10 is wrong, and I'd rather not give a clue right now, except for that he's rarely mentioned when discussing bassists - although he's excellent. There are two hints I could give on 12 - the first is that this bassist appears on Aural Moon both solo and in a group setting. If you guess correctly but still don't know what the clue means, I'll let you know. If you need another clue, I can do that too. See if you can 10 and 12 (or if anyone else can) before you take your turn at another question, Jim. |
Yeah, I thought of Dave LaRue after I posted. I thought Andy West played on some of Steve's solo work, but now I can't confirm that.
I thought Wetton might be wrong - I was thinking of "Rendezvous 6:02". I do want to try for 10 and 12. Berlin as a hedge for number 1, I was thinking of "The Basement Tapes" with Bruford. Let me throw out Jaco Pastorius as a guess for 12 - and I'll need the explanation! |
reply
Don't have enough of Steve Morse's solo work (and he's my favorite guitarist!), but I think you're right about Andy West.
good hedge on #1 - didn't think of that! Wetton good guess on 6:02. But, Splendidly is a clue, too... On 12, this bassist plays the Charlie Brown theme as part of his live solos. |
Re: reply

guess for #10 - Stanley Clarke... |
Quote:
How about Les Claypole? No idea really........D'oh!!!! |
almost there!
Stu Hamm is indeed correct for #12. Anyone ever having the pleasure of watching him play the rhythm on the left hand and the main theme of the Charlie Brown song on the right is in for a treat.
Ok, #10. You will kick yourselves - In the original clue, I refer to two albums by the artist that this bassist plays on. "Splendidly making a rendezvous". Hmmm.... |
Another stab.......
John Deacon????
|
hari-kiri
You're stabbing yourself!
"Seaside rendezvous" is a song, looking for albums. I fear Jim will get it when he wakes up Keithie....... but I can't give any more hints, it should be obtainable! |
