This guy electrified and jazzified the Rite of Spring. Interesting to the point that I may actually buy it. Right now I am not suggesting that it be added to AM but I'll keep you posted.;)

As one of my ten favorite pieces of classical music, I was doubtful, but the sample track has promise. If you get this Zvinski, let me know if it's any good.


(other favs include with Bolero, Firebird Suite, Brandenburg Concertos, Little Fugue in G min, Adagio (Albinoni), The Planets, etc...)



BUT, I'm still opposed to classical on AM :D

I don't know if I would say someone who didn't want classical would object to it. It is a classical piece, but it is rock. More like "Gates of Delirium " by YES , without vocals or keyboards.

The original was written solely for strings and I've always thought that - although it's very good music - it lacks something from not having the rest of the orchestra involved.

I would be very interested in hearing an electric version and the music itself certainly fits the genre of prog, even if not rock. And this cover may bridge that gap if it's good enough.

The CD arrived today and I had 1 listen (my family wouldn't permit any more). It is true to the original with all the movements very recognizable. I don't want to give a huge review but my impression is that, although it is well done, it has so much more potential. I wish someone (even this artist) would put a real band together and develope the adaptation a bit more. Nevertheless I really enjoyed it. Having heard it, I really recommend it to fans of this piece (unless you are Yesspaz, on a students budget, and keep blowing 2 cents all over these forums). :D
